If I understand correctly, Putman Park does not allow overnight camping. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay (5th wheel toyhauler) while attending Putman trackdays? I have onboard generator, so full hookup is not required but optional.
There's a campground near Cloverdale. I stay at the Motel 6 in Cloverdale, it's only $60-$70 per night. Putnam is the only track I've been to that doesn't allow camping but you can come in Friday and set up your paddock space and it's safe to leave your stuff there.
correct Putnam does not allow camping. and they will not anytime soon.. i'll look for the name but I stay 10 mins down the road right off 70 at an rv park its 50 bucks with power for the weekend for a truck hauler combo... big turn arounds and so on... the guy is nice enough as long as you stay to the 12.5mph speed limit and under... if you don't he can and WILL kick you out with out a refund
As long as I've got space your welcome to pull up and or crash at my place. Putnam is about 45 minutes away, 28 miles I believe. The record at the GP was 20, it was crazy but fun.
Cloverdale rv park is solid. Believe it or not, they have better water than the motels around. And it's cheaper.
bingo that's the place... it does well... has shore hookups for power, a dump station, hot water showers if you don't want to use your own and so on.
Basically that was a concession they made when getting zoning for the track, no camping and only certain hours people can be inside the track. So under current zoning they would be in violation if they allowed it.
wish I knew the real reason... I've heard that it was a concession they made when the track was built
thanks Guy's I was really blown away since there the only track I have herd of you can't camp at . I was surprised you can camp at COTA some day I will get to ride there LOL
Cloverdale RV used to be great. The new owner isn't as helpful or cordial as the old owners. He thinks he's running a 5 star hotel. I'm tired of his wife telling me how she's making these grand exceptions for me because if here husband found out, he'd have a fit. I'm likely going to try the one I found online, on the other side of 70 last year.
Thanks for the insights. Look forward to seeing and/or meeting everyone at Putnam soon. Until then ride skilfully, have fun, and most importantly, ride your ride.
