All female track days, POLL

Would you prefer an all female trackday or a mixed event?

  1. All female, all day, no guys attend

While I appreciate all bikes, a day like that would exclude me just based on cc's. :(

Also, to answer an earlier question about why girls would want an all girl td anyway...i'm not saying these are the only reasons or that I represent a majority of other women...but imho it would just be nice to to a trackday where:

*there's not an assumption that you're there because you're with a guy. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked, 'oh, are you so-and-so's wife/gf?' Then the next thing that happens is (because I'm single and there on my own)...

*you're there because you're looking for a guy. You get hit on constantly. Not that I wouldn't mind having a bf that rides because then he'd understand my stupid obsession, but a hookup is not why I'm at a trackday.

*you'll be in the way/slow. I'm not the fastest but not the slowest. Please don't come up to me in between every session to tell me you're amazed I passed you. I appreciate the compliment, REALLY, but after about 10 of these I will be completely embarrassed and picked on by all my friends for the rest of the season.

I love my guy friends and greatly respect their skills. I love following any person, guy or gal, that is a little faster/better than me so I can hopefully gain some pointers. No offense, I pull the girl card from time to time, especially because my mechanical skills still SUCK. But it would just be nice to have some girl time with girls that have a common interest. This is why I'm interested in an all girls trackday. Not just a separate group/level, because girls have varying skills as well.

Ok, sorry if I've rocked any boats here! Guess I needed to vent just a bit.

    ROCK ON SISTA.

Well spoken and highly valid. It can be difficult for some to understand the difficulties that women can face in a predominately male sport.

On a separate note, thank you for the feedback. It helps us to more closely define parameters around what our customers really want.

I think you covered about everything I have heard. Only other thing I could add is I have heard my sister say she would like to be at the track and her boyfriend have to wait on her in the pits for a change. And I think that would be great too.

Thanks, guys! You know, in the long run, I don't care what method is used to get more girls on the track, as long as it happens. I know our numbers are growing. In my own group of friends, I'm no longer the 'novelty,' and I know that will happen across the board as you see more women riders. I'm open to doing whatever I can to help coordinate and network, if ever needed. Thanks again.

R1 = no. Same with CBR, GXR

As a general rule, 100hp would be the limit for guys. This general rule should keep most air-cooled, SV650, supermotos in the mix and allow for some of the earlier generation sport bikes.

Mostly, it was just a thought to fill out the grid and give guys a chance to ride a bike that they normally wouldn't ride. Keep the straight line speeds down and make it less intimidating for the female riders.

I will buy anyone on this board a set of tires if they can get my wife into riding.

has M endorsement and the ability; lacks the desire :(

I'm sure Cyndi would love to assist in said mission - between the two of you it would be a done deal!

Sorry Ladies, if you want to be fast, you have to mix it with the guys! I've never had a problem, and have learned a lot. No worries!

Most of us ride 10-20 days with the guys, this is a one event a year type thing. Well 2 events this year. :thumb:

Just a thought to pass along to friends Misfit:
While I have seen some slower gals on the track I don't recall ever seeing one that is both slow and erratic. To put it another way the only reason I have ever given a female rider wider birth is to be courteous, I have given plenty of guys wider birth to avoid being near them when they crash. I would take slow and predictable over moderate and erratic every time. So they should not worry one bit.

Even if its an all female day and you drop your bike there is still going to be males in the pits, I dont see the difference there really.

Guys go through the same feelings of inadequacy when they are first starting trackdays, but thats part of it, on and off the track. You know we cant tell if you're a girl on the track most of the time either, we really dont focus on that.

I've been passed by a few women who I wish would go have their own track day and stop passing me at "mine!"

    Female Racers

My girlfriend is constantly looking for other females to ride with.
As much as I love her it scares me to death to watch her ride that fast.
