Thanks for the kudos and most importantly, you had a great time with us. I'm glad I could help you a bit, and as I always say in my little talks after the classroom session.........Please ask questions! All of the Instructors are happy to be able to help in any way that we can. Thanks again and look forward to seeing you out there again.
I absolutely like the new T12 configuration. I'm not too fond of the Chicanes though. It does seem to kill the flow through that part of the track, but I guess it's one of those things that if you do it long enough, it will get better with time. Great weekend, even with the dab of rain that we had. Good seeing everyone again.
I just hopped the first one like the rumble at Barber...tip right then go through the hole.. grass.... slide then PIN IT TO WIN IT!!!
LMAO. umm.... no :jester: in all seriousness I have heard a few people say that they hit that rumble strip on the right, but I am so hard on the brakes right there that it would make me crash. No way I could it it. I go far right up the hill, clip pain at start of T2 curbing, paint on T3 curb (not the curb though), hole, paint on right, wheelie over left curb and pin it to win it
Oh, and I like the way you crest the hill and the downhill of the new T12 better than the old T12, but I wish the new one was just a LITTLE bit more round and faster at the bottom. Right now it is just a few MPH too slow and too abrupt. It is really close to being really fun though IMO I miss the scary as heck bottom of the old T12 though.
I totally enjoyed my first ride at Rd Atlanta. STT puts on the best trackdays out there. The staff and coaches are top notch people that make learning the right way to ride very fun and informative. There were 2 out of our little group that bumped to A. I think Fred enjoyed running with them all afternoon as much as they enjoyed trying to catch him. Myself and Andee will be riding with you guys again very soon. Next time I need to work on corner speed so you coaches dont walk away so easily
There were some cool bikes in the paddock this weekend. Saw a Ducati Panigale and Diavel and an Aprilia RSV4-Factory. That was the first time I had seen a Diavel in person and I REALLY liked it. It would be an awesome street bike.
Brought your seat back sunday but couldnt find you to tell you thanks again! Also props on that pit bike you rode the crap out of! (flat tire and all)
For anyone that didn't see Road Atlanta in the early days, this video is from a 1970 Canam race. http://youtu.be/J3NhmB0PBY0
Bike 57 Hey guys does anyone have any vid of the 1st session of I's at Road Atl. I would like to know what happened. Any help is much appreciated! :wtf:
I was right behind a wreck coming down the hill off the back strait in the first session if that was you I saw it. Didn't have a video going but I still remember it
I was about 30 to 40 feet behind you guys and all I saw was arms, legs and bike parts going everywhere!
It wasnt me but it is my good freind and he has no idea what happened and is trying to put the pieces together?? (the bike and his shoulder) would love to get your perspective!!
How's your friend healing up? Did he change anything with the brakes or levers before the event? I know last year a guy had his front brakes seize on him in the first session at Road Atlanta.
