Wow. Crazy deer on the track video. I've seen the one where the gixxer cuts the deer almost in half and keeps it up, but I hadn't seen that one. I've wanted to get my hands on a versys for a while. My wife doesn't like sitting up that high on the street, so I think my next bike will be the Ninja 650 instead.
It took some getting used to but now that I'm comfortable with it I really appreciate being able to see above most cars, particularly if I stand. Currently I'm lusting over a KTM 990 SM T, but at $14k I don't see it happening! :wheel:
The V is really great in traffic because it is so high. It is a little intimidating at first but you get used to it. I rode with a guy that was about 5'5" and had a V. But like you I really like being able to see over most cars. I think it makes you more visible to them too. That and a loud ass horn!
i used to avg 11,000 miles a year, haven't ridden on the street in over 3 years though. got lame quickly lol
Only put 100 miles on the street bike this year. Didn't miss it too much. Once you go track, it's hard to go back.
I ride quite a bit on the street. I have slacked the last year or so due mostly to time, but plan on laying down more miles next year and even doing some longer trips. but, MOST of my riding is 2up with my wife so i'm not out there for speed seeking, only leisurely scenic rides
It went on and on....Only street riding I DO NOW.. Anyone recognize this squid? 2 Stroke Skills!!! Cmon Gear Nazi's, I know your coming...
After I did my first track day a couple years ago, I sold my street bike later that summer. I did miss riding to MotoGP this year, but that's about the only time I really wanted to ride on the street.
Lost interest in street riding years ago and my 916 (former track bike) gets almost no use. I recently moved to Georgia and the area I moved to has tons of forest service roads (dirt and gravel) so I now have a dual sport. The dirt bike gets the most use!
