Used Spiegler forever for lines. Was a little disappointed with them on the R1 so I tried Core Moto for the lines on the new 636. The nicest brake line kit I have ever installed. All I'll use from now on. Brake pads are a highly subjective topic and based primarily on how you use the brakes and what kind of feel you are looking for.
Exactly what TRL67 said. When i made the switch from EBC to Vesrah......I'll never go back. But as pointed out....pads are a subjective topic.
Full track? on the pads or some street? I had a bad experience with the vortex pads I would stay away from those. carbon Loraine c59's were pretty good I really love my core moto lines I have a couple sets they fit great and have a tone of color combo options
I was just looking into new brake lines myself. I'm in between Spiegler and Galfer, but not sure which ones to go with. Heard good things about both.
You will not be able to discern a difference between steel lines performance, but they may fit a bit differently. The only benefit Spiegler has that separates them is that the banjo bolts can be rotated for a more custom fit. I'd say find a kit that comes with the free rear line or something. Pads are a preference thing. For what it's worth, I prefer Vesrah.
I've had Galfer lines on most of my bikes but currently have Core Moto and like mentioned above, they all perform well. The banjos on the Core Moto do rotate too and you can pick from all kinds of blingy to not-so-blingy colors.
Thanks guys I ride mostly track but do go out on the road occasionally. Are you guys using the versah SRJL on the front or just the sintered metal?
I currently have the Vesrah RJL with Goodridge SS lines. This setup works well for me on the track and the street; although street riding is extremely minimal due to "distracted drivers" these days.
