Just joined the forum and wanted to stop by and say HI from Queens, NY. I became a member of STT after being my husband's pit bitch for a few track days last year. One of the instructors convinced me to "try the track" during a lunch time session in the Poconos and I became addicted. Have done about 6 or 7 track days so far. With my husband and myself doing track days, it really has become a very expensive addiction!

Can't seem to get out of novice though. I don't want to be "THAT girl" that holds everyone up. My biggest problem is the turns, which I'm coasting around instead of braking and rolling on the throttle at the apex. Hopefully I'll get it soon and not get too discouraged.

Just wanted to thank all the STT instructors who are so helpful at all the events...and so patient!! They really teach you so much and the biggest thing is not to worry about the speed as that becomes a by-product of the smoothness...I STILL WANT TO GO FAST THOUGH!!!!

Can't wait until September 1st for NJ.

Hello to you from your neighbor in NJ. I have joined here recently. My only track day so far has been at the NH Motor Speedway in Loudon. Last month I atttended an all women track day there hosted by WRS. It took only that day to get me hooked. I used to race personal watercraft so it gave me the speed fix I have been missing since I stopped racing. I went right out and bought a track bike, but have yet to get it on the track and was considering going Sept. 1st. I was supposed to go to Pocono this weekend and hook up with a couple of guys there but they could not make it so I decided not to go.

My problem is that I have to go alone and I worry that I may need help and everyone will be too busy setting things up for themselves. I even bought a Baxley Chock so I didn't have to worrry about someone holding my bike while I get my stand. Have you been to a track day at Millville before? Are people friendly enough that I could just kinda hook up with people there? The first time at a new track, not knowing anyone, is just a little daunting to me.

  4. Greetings all,

I just joined the forum today.

Sept 1 @ Thunderbolt will be my first trackday with STT and my first day at Thunderbolt.

    I signed up for Intermediate, I hope I didn't make a mistake
:? I guess it's sort of scary making a jump. I've ridden in novice for a while, done about 10 trackdays so far over the past 3 years. Ridden at Loudon, VIR, Shenandoah-SummitPoint, and Lightning @ NJMP. In that mix I completed 3 levels with Cali Superbike School.

I'm looking forward to Thunderbolt, and riding with females during the special session.

Tracie, I'm sure you know moto people are good people, and as Lance pointed out, ask the person standing next to you for help, and I'm sure you will quickly make a new best friend!!!!

    can't wait for monday,
    Michelle

BTW I'll be riding my black naked SV650 "motopsycho". My boyfriend also has a SV650, but his has clothes... yellow track plastics. I'll be driving a black XTERRA, with lots o' stickers.

  5. I haven't been on this site lately! :D Been riding mostly with NESBA this year. Are any of you ladies doing the Oct 11th date at NJMP? Maybe I could make it to that one....
