PLEASE NOTE OUR ON TRACK SCHEDULE: Saturday: 9am-12pm, 1pm-5pm (ie: normal) Sunday: 9am-10am, 12pm-available light (ie: not normal) This is to accommodate quiet time on Sunday - and also make sure you, our customer - get maximum track time. Don't forget - we "fall back" on the clock Saturday evening, changing from daylight time back to standard time. Also, we have some GREAT activities planned for Saturday evening: 1) Chili cookoff. To enter, sign up at registration Saturday morning and then be prepared for voting Saturday evening. Winner receives a free STT trackday!!!! 2) Best adult costume. We will vote Saturday evening. Winner gets a free STT trackday! 3) Best kids costume. Winner gets a LEGO motorcycle racing set. There is a MANDATORY rider's meeting BOTH days at 8:20am. If you are not at this meeting... we will pull your sticker and you will not ride. Even if you want to skip the first session on Sunday and wait until noon to ride, you MUST be at the rider's meeting at 8:20am. After that you can go nap or whatever..... Tech and Registration open 7am Saturday and Sunday morning, and close at 8:20am for the rider's meeting. They will re-open after the rider's meeting and close for the day at 10:30am. Road Atlanta is in the EASTERN time zone. If you are riding both days, you only need to register and tech once - on Saturday. Please note some NEW tech rules regarding GoPro (or similar) cameras: - all Gopros mounted on a motorcycle must have a tether from the camera case to a point on the motorcycle. - helmet mounted Gopros are not allowed at all on track - in our novice group, Gopros are not allowed on track in the morning sessions - in the afternoon sessions they are fine as long as the above rules are followed. Novice riders: We will have an area of the paddock coned off for you, close to the footbridge across the front straight, as you will be going to the classrooms which are located in the outer paddock. Gates will open at approx 5pm on Friday and are 24/7 through the weekend after that. Just go to the gate guard to pay and get your band. We ride R*** or shine, come prepared. Unfortunately, there is a $5.00 gate fee per day for anyone entering 16 years of age or older at this track. BRING SOME CASH WITH YOU. Camping is allowed and free. We are using the "new" turn twelve and the chicane at turn two-three. We are using the "new" (inside) pit area. There is very little 30 or 50 amp power in Road Atlanta's pits. If you have a generator, bring it. Tire service will be open all day Saturday, 7am-3pm Sunday (no tire service Friday evening - sorry) We bring over 100 tires to each event at killer prices, if you need tires, wait till you get there. Huey from Marietta Motorsports will be in the house for all your suspension and parts needs. If you need something in particular - I would call their shop to make sure they bring it. We also have t-shirts, back protectors and gloves with us at great prices. Gas is available at the track, its race gas and pricey, there is a jiffy mart thingy about 2 miles from the track. Showers are available. Pets are allowed but MUST be on a leash at all times. Please "clean up" after your pets. The food concession (in the outer paddock) will be open BOTH days for lunch!!! If you don't want to bring your own food, or have to leave the track at lunch, they will be there for you!!! Any questions?, post up here please.
Even if you don't cook chili or don't dress up for the costume contest, come on over to registration and be one of our testers/voters. Bring some cookies, some chips, or something else you can pick up on the way and come enjoy the fun!!
Looking forward to getting down there! Is the coned off area mandatory for all Novice riders or can we setup shop elsewhere if space is limited and we don't mind walking a little farther?
Not Mandatory at all but you might want to bring a bike to ride to the Bridge... Classroom is on the outside of the track and you wont want t be late wit Ed or Jim leading...
Looking forward to getting back to Road A of the south. The weather report has gone from 100% rain to thunderstorms . I know we ride "rain or shine" but please remind us what the protocol is for thunderstorms. Thanks.
Saturday looks very nice, wish I did not have to work this weekend. Would enjoy being there this weekend for the riding and festivities.
What is the availability of 110-120 power? I've never been to Road A before... Are generators still available for rent?
