Hey, just moved to Michigan (Royal Oak) from Kansas City. Rode with MCRA in 2015 and started to run the 250 race series towards the end of the season. have a 12' 250R track prep'd and a cbr600rr that sees the track sometimes. Is there a race series like MCRA around the michigan area? And is there a 250 class?
I'm surprised nobody has responded because I know there are some racers on this forum. STT is a track day organization unlike MCRA which is a club racing organization that hosts track days to keep things running financially. I'm sure there is something like that up north but you may have to do some searching to find it. Try other motorcycle forums or go to some local dealerships, they'll probably know where the action is. About your other post for suspension advice, yes, replace that shock but also get emulators for the forks and make sure to get springs that are for your weight front and rear.
There is a "Racer" forum here where you may want to post this question. Maybe title the post something like "Looking for race series in MI" might help you get more traction. Welcome to the neighborhood! I live in Pleasant Ridge and my girlfriend (here) left KC a couple years ago There's a lot of STT members in the area so if your into track days and want to carpool put the word out the week before the event.
Welcome to MI and STT. If you're strictly looking for race series check out WERA and AHRMA, I believe. I'm not 100% sure of all their classes but that should get you started. Come on out to Grattan or Gingerman tracks next spring for some great track day events. There are usually plenty of racers who come out to our track days that can point you in the right direction. Lots of STT people in the Detroit metro area if you ever need anything.
