...are BOTH the man!!! Had a lowside at Barber today (T2) and snapped the rear of my right side rear set. That was ALL, plus a little scuffed plastic and leathers. Limped it in to the pits (right leg dangling) and had Trevor make the announcement to see if anyone had a spare for an 04 R1...no luck. Was gonna pack it in then Ed (Ogre) says "Check with Huey, maybe he's got something." He did not, but he "re-engineered" my rearset and I wedged it back on, thru tech (changed tires too) and back out. Felt fine, till I came back in. Stop at the pit and the rear wheel starts to bind. Turns out with the new position I couldn't get the rear brake master cycllinder to seat quite right. The binding wheel was the rear brake locked up! WHEW...glad it didn't happen on track! Huey gave it a valiant effort tho and my thanks to him. Again, I'm all set to pack up (could I have disconnected the rear brake and kept on riding? Yeah, but that wouldn't been smart) and Ed says "I'm not going to ride today. Just take my bike out for the rest of the day." AWESOME All in all still an excellent day. My thanks to Ed and Huey and all of the STT staff. A class act indeed!
Both those guys are top notch, Well maybe not Ogre..... and maybe not Huey..., but other than those two, those two are pretty awesome!
Already mentioned this in another post but have to say thanks again to Marc and Huey for helping me get back out on the track after my spill. STT is full of great people and I'm proud to be a part of this family. STT is the best!
True...both them dudes ARE alright! And enough smacking my peepee about the "disconnecting the brake" comment, OK? It was NEVER and option...was just sayin'
