I am just curious if anyone knows somewhere in the greater Birmingham, AL area to get a frame/forks checked. I took a relatively nasty spill at the Dragon yesterday and want to get on with spending money to fix the bike up.

Dam. The gap bites another. I know every professional racer uses "frame straight" in maryville tn.

Mine is at GMD Computrack right now after my graceful highside at Barber a month ago. Kent is a genius. His shop is in Fairmount, Ga. which is about an hour north of ATL. Do you have insurance? That might be the easier route, especially with snapped swing arm...Good luck. Hope you are okay.

I have comprehensive and liability insurance. So no luck with an insurance policy. But I walked away from it and went to the doctor yesterday to get checked out. Few sprains and a cracked rib and a whole lot of soreness. Thankful the gear did its job.

This was my sign to give up street riding and stick to the track. I had a similar get off at NCM April 30 and rode the rest of the weekend. It's just not worth it on the street anymore.

That sucks. If you can suck up the drive to GMD (from Birmingham I assume), I would recommend him. Kent worked on Josh Day's bike after he wrecked at Road Atlanta. He does lots of work for racers and track day riders.

I don't know if the frame is bent or not, does GMD straighten frames or just check them? If the frame is no longer straight, I will start looking for a straight frame or another 06/07 600/750 and use mine as a parts bike. And maybe acquire a frame for it later and build two bikes who knows?!?

GMD will straighten the frame, subframe, steering head, triple tree, forks etc. as long as it is within certain limits. He has a system which measures your bike from front to rear within fractions of a degree to check the straightness. He will then put it in a specialized jig, as log as its repairable, to bend things back into alignment. For your snapped subframe, you will either just need to pony up the dough for a new one, or find a welder willing to tackle it. See if Kent at GMD has any advice. At the least, give him a call and talk about things.

I haven't taken a look at the subframe to see if it is snapped, I know the front fairing stay is and the swingarm. With the amount of people that stretch bikes and sell the OEM swingarm, I would rather just pick one of those up instead of having mine rewelded. Seems the safer option. But I'll Give GMD a call and see what they can do for me

Just got mine back from GMD... Kent's a mad genius. I also have a spare swingarm for an '06-'07(might fit other years as well) 600/750 that I'll let go for $90. It's what I paid including shipping. ...I'm in Birmingham

Nope. I walked away from my tumble with nothing more than a bruised ego and a little more character on my bike. I take it you got transported?
