Yo everyone, New guy here! I just came from Virginia and I can finally afford to go to the track again!! I'm building my trailer to tow my bike! Hopefully I can have it done in time for Grattan in two weeks time! Im being optimistic! Im out in Corunna. I use to ride with PRE and Pro Motion. I've done a few trackdays. I ride a 09 CBR600RR. I've noticed that Grattan doesn't have power.. I was spoiled by VIR/Summit.... D: I don't have a genny. So what would be the best way to go about using a air compressor to adjust tire pressures and what not. Just looking for some helpful hints. I don't wanna rent a garage simply for cost reasons (Broke college student) I just wanted to drop by and say hello to everyone and get myself out there before I'm at the track.
^ both work perfectly... I used a bike pump for years till I bought a 39.99 refillable air tank from Walmart (holds like 4 gal) then finally genny and pancake compressor
There is air available at Grattan typically at the very first garage door, if I remember correctly. All else fails, ask a neighbor pitted next to you. We're a pretty friendly crowd up here, so stop by and say hi. As far as power goes, if you don't want to rent you can beg your neighbor (cold beer for afterward or gas might help, lol) or you could show up at the event and see if anyone is willing to split a garage with you for the weekend to make it a little cheaper! Welcome to the north! Grattan is a great track, lots of challenges and good fun. If you need anything grab any of us in the STT staff shirts running around the paddock or in the amber/orange vests while out on track if you want a tow to get a feel for the lines. Lots of blind corners and elevation change here. Hope you can make it out next weekend!
Oh theres air at Grattan? That's great! I've thought about doing a bike pump too! All great ideas! Thanks a lot guys. I hope to be out there on the 11,12th if funds permit me to! If not my next is to try in July, witch is so long away I really miss riding the bike. Its been too longh and now I'm finally getting closer to being able to ride again. How are the pits set up there? I was reading about a upper pit, and a lower pit?
The upper out has some room for people to set up, and the garages (have to reserve those). The lower paddock is first come first served, with plenty of room for everyone to set up. There is air at the first garage as mentioned earlier. If you don't finish the trailer in two weeks let me know. I'll swing through and pick you up.
WHatt!!!! You would make my damn year if you did that! I ordered it from HF yesterday, and i have to take it to them DMV for plates, ect. If you did that, it would honestly make my stress so much less because then I wouldnt feel rushed to get the trailer done and everything. that would be such a huge HUGE help!!!
