Getting back into the trackday addiction next weekend at Road Atlanta. Planning on coming up Friday evening to camp Friday night and ride Saturday. It's been years since I've been to RA, are there any tips or insight regarding parking, camping, etc.? Such as, is it better to park in a certain area because it's close to bathrooms/showers, etc? Do most people camp on the pavement in the paddock? Feel free to give any other advise you think will help make next weekend even more enjoyable. Thanks in advance for your insight. Gene-o
Most everyone parks in the main paddock. People who camp typically just throw their tent on the asphalt. Bathrooms are on the upper teir paddock and many people park and camp there also. Bring a bicycle or scooter if you park real far away from podium, as the riders meeting will be there and it can be a hike. Bring a canopy if you have one for shade. It's going to be hot. I will be there coaching, just not sure which group yet. If your doing novice you will want to park relatively close to the bridge as the class room is in the main building and here again walking can be a long distance. Have some fun. See you there Tim
Thanks for the input. Yea, one of my buddies who's also coming has a yamaha genny for our warmers, and some fans. It will be three of us... Two of us have done a couple of TDs before...and one newbie. We're planning on coming up Friday evening and camping. I was there a couple weeks ago, they are trying to improve the place. 2 - 50amp pigtails at each power pole now, plus a couple 110 outlets. Still have the ridiculous boxes on each pole. They have redone the water hookups at each pole as well, burying them with a cover over them, guys were doing that when I was there. Said the above ground water hookups kept getting broken off. The biggest thing about RA is to have fun. it's is not hard to.
Yes it does... Especially when you cook Quesadillas for everyone..lol. That ain't happening ever again!
Been a long time since i was there last... Where will the shade be in the afternoons? If i remember correctly, closer to the embankment, the better, correct? (back of the paddock?) Also, is someone going to post a RA facts thread this week? With info such as gate times, fees, tires, tire service, ect. Thanks in advance.

I will be the lead intermediate instructor for the weekend. We have coaches in every group. Come by and say hi and ask any questions you have or just hang out. I will be in the red Toyota Tundra. Either a black BMW or a green ninja. Haven't decided which bike I am bringing.

Anyone in the Atlanta Area that I can trailer up and back with? My buddy I was gonna trailer with isn't gonna make it Saturday morning. He's only gonna ride Sunday now.
