Hello All, Just thought I'd say hi. I signed up on this site about a year ago and I never took the next step to formally introduce myself. My name is Dave and I like long walks on the beach, a good glass of wine, ha, etc.... Well, now that we got that out of the way......My name is Dave and I've been a SBTT member off and on for about 8 years now. I ride a 2005 GSXR 1000 in the advanced group and I looking forward to getting out on the track a bit more this year and learning some new things. Just thought I'd say hi, Dave K.

Thanks Bill. Yes, I love my K5...It's the bike I've just never been able to part with. I'm from a suburb 15 minutes southwest of the city of Chicago (Willowbrook). I've been to Road America, Grattan, Autobahn N, S, and Full...I think that's about it. And yourself? Dave K.
Hey Dave, I'm in Indy. Putnam Park is about an hour west of Indy and it's a great flowing track, it's a favorite of many. I like Grattan a lot also. I have not been to any of the tracks around Chicago. I race with WERA, and usually go south to race.

Bill, Never been to Putnam, but I have heard some good things about it though. One day I'm sure I'll have the chance to ride it. You should check out Autobahn sometime...nothing spectacular, but I'd say it's worth the experience. Grattan is definitely more technical though....Autobahn is more on the flat side...ha. Here's another one in your neighborhood. I'm not a Dave though. I'm in Westmont. Done 5 track days so far so still riding Novice on a beater SV650. Lots of fun. I go to Gingerman a lot. That's a great track but my next track day is 6/11 at Autobahn. Either of your two David's going? Garrett.
Hey Garrett....as of right now I plan on being there on the 11th. Not sure it will be in I or A yet. I'll let you know as we get closer...
I would like to try Blackhawk and Autobahn. Sometimes it seems like there's not enough weekends in a year!
Another Dave here, from Downers a Grove - small world! My 17 year old son Michael rides an SV-650 at STT and CCS events; dark blue # 139. I'm the crew.. The next event we have scheduled is Road America 6/30 before the 7/1-3 race weekend. Hope to see you all there.

Bill, I know how you feel, it always seems that way. Then again, I guess if there were more weekends in a year.....Would there be enough $$$ in the bank to support this crazy hobby???....ha, I guess that might be part of the reason it's so fun when it all finally comes together Dave K.
Nice to hear from you sir, would be great to meet in person. Did Autobaun yesterday, by end of day started to enjoy the track, the morning percolator sucked a bit. (For those who don't know the track is known for weeping water, and did from the rain the night before)
Glad you're part of the crew Dave! Sounds like you have some good experience under your belt! Wanted to chime in, because like you.......I also ride a k6 1000. (For those who don't know, the k5 & k6 are identical except the year) I got the bump earlier this year to advance. Don't think I've ever personally seen another K5-k6 on the track except mine. So if I see you at a southern meet.....I'm sure I'll harras you for a bit! I have had my k6 for a few years now and slowly turning into a dedicated track bike and hoping to get my Wera lisence next year.....but hard to part from the street with it. These bikes are monsters. Best bike Suk ever put out. Gary

I did Sat and Sun. Sat was a challenge with the weeping/running water all over the darned track. Sun was a lot more fun. I was the one in Novice on the dark green SV650 put-putting around as fast as I could on my 75 horses.
