As the title says, my motor seized. 2007 GSXR 600. I had a pretty bad accident back in May. Once I got the bike back together and rideable, it initially started fine and I rode it around the block a couple of times.

I booked a track day, went to take the bike up to the gas station and it died. Pushed it to the gas station, still wouldn't start. Tried to bump start it, and the back tire locked up (no hopping, skipping, jumping from the back tire.)

Pushed the bike home and tore it down. It seems that the valves on cylinder three are seizing. So I hand cranked the motor without spark plugs, and got them moving. Tried to start it again and nothing but a click. Tore it back down and same valves were sticking. Put some marvel mystery oil on the valves, let sit, hand crank, repeat. Still no go.

I'm not good enough of a mechanic to tear into the motor, so what I'm asking, where can I take my bike in the Birmingham area to get this problem resolved?

Opie could fix it no problem and does great work...... However for the cost of what it would be to fix just buy another Motor off fleabay or the wera board....... Most used Motors on E-Bay do come with a guarantee as well... I would say $2500 to repair.... New Motor $1K Shipped.

Man. That's not what I was wanting to hear! For $3k, I could buy a better set up track bike than what I already have. But thanks for the input guys.

I wish the motor would have been dead when I started it initially, before I bought everything else the bike needed to run! I just dumped ~$1500 into it. But I'm probably going to cut my losses and buy another 06/07 GSXR 600/750. What I can't sell will just be spare parts.

That sucks man! There is a guy on this forum who sells salvaged bikes for really good deals, he may be able to help you find another 06/07 GSXR..
