The 600 cc bike will be will be easier and more fun to ride around the small tight tracks. Every one that I know of has a track record set by a liter bike. And if there is one on a 600 it is because the same guy didn't take a liter bike there. if you can't keep up with your buddies on their 600's they are just outriding you. You have much more hp and regardless of the gear you are using, if the guy on the 600 is leaving you on a turn you are doing something very wrong.

You're not getting around BHF or any other track by using engine braking. You USE THE BRAKES! Getting out of the corner fast is about line, power and traction. Get on the right line. Open the throttle up without breaking traction.

A fast friend tells me it's easier to get a drive out of corners on a 600 at BHF because you can open the gas and go. But on a litre bike, you have to watch wheel spin and manage the traction until you get the bike stood up. Or he just spins the rear to finish the turning, stands it up and wheelies by me. Not something I'd recommend.

The answer to your question is SKILLS. Mad Skills! Keep practicing. On my SV, I don't have to worry as much about traction on exit. But I'm going to carry more corner speed to make up for it and I'm going to use the brakes a LOT! It's about the skills.

It is. I'm back on a 600 this year. I was cheering in my helmet when I was able to pass someone on corner exit and keep them behind me for once! Hasn't happened in years. Darn straight aways.

I actually think a 600 will make you a better rider than a literbike will. But I'm still a liter cheater :)

I agree with this! I got a a really good deal for this zx10, otherwise I'd still be on a 6!

What year zx10? I'm on a 2012 & run -1/+2 or a 16/41. Most of today's liter bikes need to be ridden like a 600 in a way, the power delivery is just a little more linear. Frankly its all corner speed, especially at BHF, the fast guys there carry a lot of corner speed and get right to the gas when they can. Next time you're there drop in behind them and try to keep up, watch how much faster they go through. The 11+ zx10 is capable of corner speed & even still i'll drop in behind a guy like Grey, Richard etc.. and use them to gauge how poor my corner speed is. Liters are fun & tricky to figure out, but once you do they are a hoot :)

08' ! Yea I looked at all of the Gopro and I really think I just wasn't on the throttle enough! First litre bike so I think I still gotta get that fear factor out..

Nothing like lifting the tire down the front straight thru the gears wide open :)

Nothing like watching someone fly past your kid, who's on a 250 ninja, with the front tire in the air only to grab the brakes early and get passed by same kid on the ninja 250 into the next turn. :D

True...when you got skills, displacement matters little :)

I think if anything... Chasing the little bikes on a liter bike makes you a better liter bike rider... I know early on I was a habitual liter bike corner parker and once I realized that... Thanks Samantha!!! I started to focus on entry and exit speeds and much less front straight speed.. Oh the memories... Once you get all that together JT says it best... there is nothing better than a pack of angry liter bikes tearing it up together!

For the record a 600 is not a little bike. :)
