    Hi all,

    Some people have ridden their entire lives, but I figure I'm not the only guy around that rode for years, got out of the habit when the baby happened and then got right back into it when the kid moved out.
    I've been riding for about two years now, have returned to my home state of Florida and am prepping for track days, something I've never done before. PJ at Sportbikes4Hire (friendly and very willing to share info) actively encouraged me to register here as a means to begin.

    Bike: 86 GSXR 750 with 17" wheel conversion.
    I have a couple of other bikes but figured this was the most appropriate one to use. There are better bikes but this should be okay for a novice and I'll change my platform when it's appropriate (and fundable). Maintenance is good, pads will be new, new Dunlop Q3s, fresh oil and no leaks of any kind. I do need to have my suspension set up. I have a shop in mind for that and I'm hoping he'll respond soon.

    I'm rounding up my gear now;
    Track leathers: Have them
    Boots/gloves: Getting them
    Helmet: Is my modular going to be a problem?
    Spousal agreement: She's actively encouraging it.

    I need to poke around and see what's available and when for novice activities at Jennings (3.5 hrs from me) and PBIR (2 hrs). Since I've just moved back I'll be doing this solo, so it'll be good to meet others that have this same interest.

    Rob

    I do not believe modular helmets are allowed. only full face helmets. You need to check the STT track day check list.

    Pretty sure modular helmets aren't allowed. STG and Ridersdiscount.com have some smoking deals on helmets right now.
