    THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT
(don't even ask - don't message - don't IM - don't call the office - if you're not signed up already, just stay home)

Please note that Friday parking will be different (out on the access road) due to the museum expansion construction.

Gates open approx 5:30-6:00pm Friday night and stay open til 9:00pm, if you make it in by 9:00pm you can then come 24/7, if you don't make it by 9:00pm gates re-open Sat at 7:00am-9:00pm and Sun 7:00am-5:00pm. Barber is in the Central Time Zone.

There is now NO gate fee for Sportbike Track Time events at Barber

We ride R*** or shine, please come prepared for Southern rain showers.

You must walk to the Porsche building and get your wristband before you can get into the paddock. If you need camping or electric, you can pay for that when you get your wristband.

If you arrive early please park where the gate guard directs you to park. No drinking of beer or alcohol allowed in parking area's and no changing bike oil in parking area's.

Please note that Sportbike Track Time is the ONLY organization that Barber allows to "stage" in the museum parking lot (at least once construction is done)... we want to keep it that way!

No glass bottles are allowed in the Barber paddock - bring plastic cups!

Camping is available and you pay the track for that.

Electric is available in the lower pits against the fence and in the upper pits in both sides and you have to pay the track for that.

Sportbike Tire Service will be there with their usual awesome prices on Michelin Tires.

Tire service will be open Friday night 7:00pm-9:00pm to help you out. Then 7am to 7pm Saturday and 7am-3pm Sunday. We can now remove and replace your wheels for you if you do not want to get greasy.

Huey from Marietta Motorsports will be there for all suspension and tech needs.

Sign-up opens 7am both days and closes at 10:30am for the day. Please be on time.

Tech opens 7am and closes 10:30am each day.

Please note some NEW tech rules regarding GoPro (or similar) cameras:

    - all Gopros mounted on a motorcycle must have a tether from the camera case to a point on the motorcycle.

    - helmet mounted Gopros are not allowed at all on track

    - in our novice group, Gopros are not allowed on track in the morning sessions - in the afternoon sessions they are fine as long as the above rules are followed.

Mandatory riders meeting 8:20am BOTH days, Intermediate riders are first on track at 9am.

Sorry to say, pets are NOT allowed at Barber.

Showers are available on the second and third levels.

Race gas and street gas is available on second level, credit cards only.

Please keep your area clean and do not leave any race gas cans or tires when you leave.

We must be out of the paddock by 7:00pm Sunday night.

Any questions, please post up here.

Looking forward to a shiny sides all directions weekend - BMS is a wonder and October is giving us its best. I'm ready to move from N to I but need some kind of 'approval' for Crystal's records (riding N ticket this weekend but happy to bump up if room becomes available.) Who STT do I need to seek?

In order to move into the Intermediate group, you need to be evaluated and bumped by one of the Instructors. I am going to assume that you are a "veteran novice" and have more than "several" track days under your belt in the Novice group. So, what you need to do is to ask one of the Novice instructors to evaluate you and see if you are ready to bump to the I group. If they bump you, then this is what will happen.

You will be placed in the computer system with the correct info to be able to purchase an I slot for your next event. You will also be able to move into I this weekend, provided that there is room in I (event is sold out, so that may or may not be possible). You will only be allowed to move to I this weekend if there is room...AND....your bike is prepped to the Intermediate group level, which is obviously different than the Novice level of prep. Check the STT website if you have any questions about the I group requirements for the bike and for the rider.

Hey Vernon - assumptions are good - I'm a veteran novice multiple tracks with STT, I'd guess a dozen days over the years, some of them riding with you!! I'll talk with N instructors to get evaluation on the radar. I understand 'I' this subject to availability and no big deal if I ride N this weekend, just looking to move to 'I' going forward.

Thanks for the heads up on bike prep, I'll take a look at web site. My moto is full time track bike and prepped as such but double checking to make sure I'm covered.

Thanks to STT and looking forward to BMS - such a beautiful setting and fantastic track!!

    Trevor,

What to do, what to do?
I purchased (via paypal) Corey Ott's "Advanced" spot on Tuesday of this week. He as been attempting to reach Crystal for four days now to transfer his Saturday over to me. He has not received a return email or phone call in return. Well, I have trailer all loaded up and I am ready to strike out for BMP assuming that I will be riding his Advanced spot? I do not need to waste my time and gas to travel to BMP if it is true - that STT is not allowing any transfers because the event is overbooked. It needed to be posted 48 hours in advanced. We tried to complete the sell and swap of the event day 48 hours in advance. We have just not been able to reach Crystal?

After the previous post I just received a phone call and it appears that everything was answered! So, forget the previous post.

There must be a better way - there always is. Tonight's queue for entry was silly - almost as long as the drive from ATL - in traffic, yes - ATL Friday rush hour traffic. One human in a manual process with as much $$$,$$$.00 as is being spent this weekend for passing a gate mui no bueno. Fixy please. Happy to help - 4 people (one in each window,) online, mail me a bracelet, electronic signatures for waiver (just bought a house that way!!) A line at the BMS gate makes sense at all...

I love BMS, thank you STT for setting us up!!!

While I tend to agree with your idea, there is what I believe to be a good reason for the way it is done. It prevents utter chaos in the pits. If everyone could enter at the same time after the staff gets in, you would not even be able to back up a trailer with everyone scrambling for spots at the same time. Standing in line and then a steady drip of folks getting into the pits instead of a fire hose is going to work better. The alternative is to show up about an hour after the gates open and voila, no line. :D

Our system works at Barber. It has the last 11 years.... And it really works well when we don't have to stage on the road which is only temporary.. It will be better next Spring.. And as far as mailing the bracelets that would simply put the thought in people's minds to pull up to the gate early only to be denied entry then the gate is blocked..not a good idea..

Fantastic weekend at BMS - again!! Love seeing all the familiar STT staff and rider faces, continuity is a testament to the organization.

BMS gate entry system works 'ok' most the time except for last Friday when it didn't work at all - at least if one values one's time.

Gate was understaffed - period. I understand that we couldn't use the museum lot this go but back in the Spring - issue is more more with single human at the window. If a manual process is best then add man (or two or three!)

I'm personally not worried with getting run over by an RV in a gate crashing GP start for a spot in the lot - I've met many riders and believe we all mostly handle these things in a civil manner. Not sold on the gate crashing fears - the staging area is well staffed and parking well managed, bracelet in hand or not.

Getting through the gates @ BMS is only a 'satisfactory' experience from a participants point of view - though not last weekend. And I'm a fan of always improving things lest they don't.

Once in the gates - nothing but glorious awesomeness and wonderful people doing great things.
