Hi all, low sided this past Friday at Gingerman. Most of the damage was cosmetic luckily and I was able strip the bike and ride the rest of the day.

But this was my first crash ever, so I am looking for some tips on rebuilding the bike. So here is what I need:

Clip ons (Can I buy Ebay cheap clip ons to replace mine or are they no good?)
Levers (Can I buy Ebay cheap levers?)
    Grips (Not worried about this)
Bar Ends (Not worried about this)
Frame Slider (Woodcraft. Is there a place where I can buy a single puck and not have to pay $15 in shipping for a single puck from woodcraft?)
    Gas Tank cowl (Ebay?)
Fairings (Going to full race fairings) (Armour bodies $700 or Ebay $400?)

Just looking for some advice, priced out everything new from STG and I can't spend that kind of money right now so open to buying Ebay specials or even used OEM.

    Thanks!

On the Clipons and levers, I refuse to cheap out on these, you never know the quality of them and stuff like that tends to break at the worse possible times. There have been many instances of brake levers that were manufactured improperly and caused issues, a good example is a lot of the cheap knockoffs keep the master cylinder plunger depressed too far and don't properly allow brake fluid to return as the return port is partially blocked causing all kinds of issues. Plus with a lot of the Chinese stuff the metallurgy is questionable and they have been known to just snap off.

On the fairings, up to you and how much work you are willing to put into the bodywork if it doesn't line up properly. I use Armour bodies myself but you might wait a bit and look at Hotbodies. Some of it fits fine, some needs work but if $ is the primary concern they normally have a holiday special to buy one get one free so you can split a purchase with a buddy.

I figure that would be the case on the chinese stuff, I guess I will look for a decent used OEM clip on then. I have heard the same about the poor quality of the hotbodies fairings however they are a little cheaper.

I am done riding for the season as it is so I have plenty of time to find the best deals and get her fixed up.

If you go to their site https://www.hotbodiesracing.com/ and sign up at the bottom for the newsletter they will send you updates on specials like free shipping, BOGO sales, etc. That way you won't miss it.

Do you have a repair manual? It has saved me $$ over the years fixing things myself instead of paying a shop to do it. Worth the investment, IMO.

Oem used parts on ebay. You can usually get good parts for much cheaper than new.
