Coming down from Wisconsin for track day Saturday April 15
Will be getting into town Friday afternoon
    Any good places to stay?
I know there's hotels near the track
Last time I was down I slept in my car outside the track gate but with the mrs coming this time that's not an option ha
Planning on leaving Saturday after the tracks cold
Planning on running A group but since it's the first time this year I may start in B and see where I'm at for pace

The hotel right by the racetrack has a barber rate if you ask for it. I stayed there the first couple of times before I started camping.

What group do you usually ride in? I'm assuming you've ridden with STT before?

Yes, I've ridden with STT a lot the last 5 years or so; I got bumped to A group the end of summer last year.

OK, if you are normally an "A" rider, I would suggest just staying in advanced and backing off your pace a little bit until you get comfortable again. You certainly don't need to be in the Novice group, especially in the morning....or anytime for that matter. The A guys will make their way around you if you are running a slower pace. As long as you are consistent with your lines, smooth and predictable, you'll be OK. If you find yourself feeling uncomfortable at advanced pace, talk to one of the coaches about moving down to the "I" group or better yet get with an A coach and have him work with you. I don't know how much Barber seat time you have under your belt, so getting with a coach might not be a bad thing anyway.

Been to barber once and loved it.
Thanks for the tip; i'll sign up for A and see how the day goes. Definitely going to get a tow the first session.

Called the local hotels and nobody has a "barber" discount.
Oh well, I found a good rate online.
Less somebody knows of something else?

Just tell 'em you are in town for the National Hotel Crime Investigation Symposium and will be investigating, at random, hotels that charge higher rates than the National average based on per capita results of a previous survey! :D
