So this I class pass happened to me Yesterday. I thought it was a pretty funny/crappy pass. Dude touched me and moved me, atleast he didn't take me out.

This is me and Samm running 2:42s at Road America today in A.

One of these days I'd like to ride that track. I'll bet it was cooler than Barber too....

Hell yea, it comes on sometimes and other times it doesn't come on at all the whole session. Tell me how to make it go away and stop coming on. Lol

Yea I'm not the person to ask in reference to barber. I hated that track, the on camber and off camber at barber made me slow. I never felt comfortable there.

At Road America I was messing up the A class on a 600. Mostly in the braking zone. I love this track! I got samm on his 1000 in the front straight going into turn 1 at 179 mph before braking down to about 80 mph

I've never seen a 600 go that fast either. But it looks like you've progressed well, Josh..

Hey next time you get a pass like that on camera you need to see me at track about it. That was 100% bullcrap. Someone needed a session out at minimum.
However I will say you did a bang up job staying in your line.

Maybe I need to recalibrate it again. I did recently change the battery on the bike I wonder if it got messed up? Anyways, Road America was a blast! Every other lap had a top speed of "173" in the front straight, I think drafting sam was the reason that one was higher. But I agree it could possibly be way off.

I like riding I for a day when I'm at a new track but about mid-day I realize I should of just ran A.

Thanks Kieth!! Hope your doing well, maybe I'll see you at NCM sometime soon.

Nick, I showed it to Owen, we looked for the bike in the pits but didn't see it. It's all good, I wasn't mad and no one went down. I just laughed about it and wanted to share the video because it funny and a shitty pass.

I checked way up because the two guys in front of me parked there bikes in the turn and I didn't want to spook them or steal their lines thinking we'd be meeting at the apex if I didn't check up and just wait to pass. I guess the guy behind me didn't have the same thought and blew by all 3 of us diving for the apex and brushed up against me.

No one went down so it's all good. :)

What nick said.. obviously there are always factors that could have played into it..(someone else altered their line or checked or whatever) but it is the job of the passer to always make the pass clean and safe within the confines of the group rules.. if this isn't possible further coaching is needed.

if I was behind and saw that happen based only on the video evidence that rider and I would be having a very long conversation about the rules of a track day and how the only trophy you get is that you and every other rider leave in the condition they arrived in... based on that conversation things have a few ways they could go... to nick is one of them and not the preferable one

Did that same guy cook the chicane at the end of the video?

Yea he did. I'm not sure why he did that though. I can post the rest of the video but I was right back on his ass by turn 13 but didn't pass him the rest of the session because I felt he was unpredictable and was pushing his ability and trying to "race" me. I wasn't interested in playing around like that with anyone in I. I trust the guys in A but Everytime I run in the I group I get bothered by inconsistencies, early braking, parking in the corner with a 1000cc bike and then whoring me down the straight until I go into the brake zone and I'm stuck behind them again until they take off again the next straight.

I always wonder how fast I would be on a 1000 but then I realize I don't want to buy another bike.

Sometimes though at a new track trying to learn the track without pressure is way easier in I. Riding A on a new track in the morning can be weird because I'm focused on "just running pace" and not line, corners, what's next, and so on. Ideally at new tracks I'd love to run the morning in I then change to A at lunch. Haha.

Fun times! Hopefully I can make some more events this year if the fiancé will let me get the weekend away.

Great event Nick. I really like how your comical and personable. That goes a long way with customer retention! Everyone I've meet at STT has been beyond great! I love running with you guys!

Smart play. It's kinda NOT fun when I'm waiting behind somebody because their lines are 'unpredictable' in the corners, but their bike goes like a top-fuel dragster in the straight. "Hey buddy, I keep catching you somehow, could you just follow me for one little straightaway?" LOL

Haha good laugh. Everyone that passes during a session should place a rear facing gopro and just see what's going on behind them once they make a pass. I've never been to a big track but I'd imagine the 1000s would cause trouble with fast straight speeds and chilling in the corners

Go to gearingcommander.com and enter you tire size, gearing, and rpm and it'll tell speed.

    For comparison sake

    Moto2 at Mugello
Fastest: Pol Espargaro (Pons Kalex) 289.9km/h (180.1mph)
Slowest: Elena Rosell (Moriwaki) 271.7km/h (168.8mph)
