Ya I tried that. Unfortunately I bought it over the winter and didnt try on until I was out of the date range where that was allowable.

I bought one earlier this year. I'm happy with the quality of the vest and the fit over the leathers. A buddy of mine said, the price of the vest is less than the deductible on your medical insurance. I'm wondering if this is sufficient for a back protector as well.
Also Helite claims it doesnt need to be used with a back or chest protector but Ill still wear my forcefield blade underneath just to be safe, can hardly tell its there anyway.
