We have a great weekend planned - including a pot luck cookout Saturday evening in the tech area and a track walk (using the tram the corner workers use).

Gates open approx 5:30-6:00pm Friday night and stay open til 10:00pm, if you make it in by 10:00pm you can then come 24/7, if you don't make it by 10:00pm gates re-open Sat at 7:00am-9:00pm, Sun 7:00am-9:00pm., and Monday 7:00am-4:00pm. Barber is in the Central Time Zone.

There is a $5 per person, per day, gate fee for Sportbike Track Time events at Barber. Bring some cash with you!!!!!!

We ride R*** or shine, please come prepared for Southern rain showers.

You must walk to the Porsche building and get your wristband before you can get into the paddock. If you need camping or electric, you can pay for that when you get your wristband.

If you arrive early please park where the gate guard directs you to park in the museum parking lot, or lot G (we use the museum parking lot until it fills up and then lot G).

If you are there early, DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT approach the Porsche/registration building until directed to do so by the guard or track management.

No drinking of beer or alcohol allowed in parking areas and no changing bike oil in parking areas.

Please note that Sportbike Track Time is the ONLY organization that Barber allows to "stage" in the museum parking lot... we want to keep it that way!

No glass bottles are allowed in the Barber paddock - bring plastic cups!

Camping is available and you pay the track for that.

Electric is available in the lower pits against the fence and in the upper pits in both sides and you have to pay the track for that.

PLEASE: use common sense for selecting your pit space. If you did not pay for power, please do not pit in front of a power pole. Please do not pit lengthwise, taking up multiple power spots, even if you did pay for power. If your rig is such that you do need to pit lengthwise, please do so in a corner of the paddock that does NOT take up multiple power spots. Note that the first tier around the tech area and in front of the building is reserved space - if you pit there without permission you will be asked to move.

Sportbike Tire Service will be there with their usual awesome prices on Michelin Tires.

Tire service will be open Friday night 7:00pm-9:00pm to help you out. Then 7am to 7pm Saturday, 7am to 7pm Sunday, and 7am to 4pm Monday. We can now remove and replace your wheels for you if you do not want to get greasy.

For tech and suspension services we have THERMOSMAN IN DA HOUSE!!!!!!!

Sign-up opens 7am and closes at 10:30am for the day. Please be on time.

Tech opens 7am and closes 10:30am each day.

Please note some NEW tech rules regarding GoPro (or similar) cameras:

    - all Gopros mounted on a motorcycle must have a tether from the camera case to a point on the motorcycle.

    - helmet mounted Gopros are not allowed at all on track

    - in our novice group, Gopros are not allowed on track in the morning sessions - in the afternoon sessions they are fine as long as the above rules are followed.

Mandatory riders meeting 8:20am BOTH days, Intermediate riders are first on track at 9am.

Sorry to say, pets are NOT allowed at Barber.

Showers are available on the second and third levels.

Race gas and street gas is available on second level, credit cards only.

Please keep your area clean and do not leave any race gas cans or tires when you leave.

We must be out of the paddock by 7pm Sunday night!

Any questions, please post up here.

It will be interesting from the comments. When I crashed I ruined the Akrapovic mufflers so had to put Yosh slip ons onto the stock header  Put I have some mufflers from Japan that fit the Akrapovic header (much lighter and larger diameter). Don't think they are as quite as the Akra was though

Novice wanna be here. I have been looking at doing this for a while now. Is this event completely closed. what I mean is if I rode out tomorrow, could I talk to some of you guys about getting involved, what type gear to get, what to expect, maybe make sure my old bike and my old self are up to this :) and yes I know I can just pay my money and come out on a scheduled day, but would rather have a little more insight and be prepared for when I do. Thanks guys!

Tim absolutely come out & watch you’ll love it. Don’t be shy, be sure to introduce yourself. Some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met are at the STT track days.
You should try and find Trevor or Cindy they will be able to explain things.

Don’t worry about being older, lots of old dudes out here rippin it up. I’ll be 51 in a couple of weeks & still going for it.

Well if you want to really understand how it works I'd recommend showing up early. Riders meeting is at 8:20am which will really help you get a feel for how the days are run and how serious STT takes safety. Then if you ask nice (Trevor or Cindy) they might let you sit in on the novice classroom stuff. I believe there are novice classes in the morning aprox 9am, 10am, 11am. Not sure about the afternoon.
Your first day will be in novice no matter how much street experience you have. I had 19yrs on the street when I did my first track day and was embarrassed by my lack of skills.
If you're a motorcycle fanatic like the rest of us you MUST see the museum.

Also here's something to get your blood pumping (not my vid) but its a good one. Mine are under Steve802cc if your interested.
    Have fun.
    Steve

I had to come here and and say thanks to STT, Thermosman (I still don't know why we call him that, I am coming back for the story!!), corner workers, Instructors, the person who rode behind me for not running me over when I crashed :D

It was a draining day but had a blast!

I am a novice with limited experience to track days and these machines. Had to change oil before first session, had to bump start the bike every session, first time riding this bike (GSXR 600) on track, first crash (14a), bike overheated after radiator drain bolt fell off (Thermosman made me a bolt using his magic and didn't even charge for it!!! :) )

I am really glad to be part of this family!

Is this information still valid? Can we still get to the track Friday evening to unload bikes?
