    Hey STT Friends,
I know this is a long-shot, but does anyone have video of ACC on 5/26 for the Novice session that ended just before noon? The session ended because of my crash. I was in Group 1. I was the one on the electric bike. I don’t know what caused me to go off course, and it’s really bothering me, to the point that I don’t think I’ll return. I’ve been to about 20 track days, and anytime something has gone wrong, I always knew what it was. This time I’m completely clueless, and it has me seriously rattled. If there happened to be video, it might help. Thanks!

Hey Rob.....hope you are healing up.....someone did have a video of your crash.....it was the general feeling that you passed out on the bike maybe due to the heat......you reached the armco barrier in a place where your really shouldnt have if you were awake...
..i dont think it should deter you from returning to the track, i think that your crash was beyond your control.......i hope that this helps settle your mind about the crash..

Thanks. I am healing (slower than I would like). Blacking out certainly would explain a lot, and would make sense, given the heat that day, but I don't recall losing consciousness. I clearly remember coming out of turn 3, and I clearly remember not being able to slow the bike down once I was off the track, but I don't remember what caused me to go off. There really is no reason to go off there, so a mechanical failure or blackout seem to be the only possibilities, and I think I eliminated mechanical failure. But on the few occasions I have blacked out in my life (not track related), there were always signs, (tunnel vision, etc.), and I remember the symptoms. Not so this time. Still, it's the most likely possibility. Thanks for the response!

Wow. That sucks. Hope you heal well!

Did you go left off the track at turn 3 or right? Armco left is close, right is quite a way off track once you pass the apex.

It was hot that day for us Northerners.

Hope you're healing up quickly! Only thing I'd add is that when you focused on riding you may have missed the tunnel vision or other indicators that happen before a black out.

I had cleared turn 3, then went off to the left, essentially shortcutting turn 4. There was no reason for that to happen, I don't remember any kind of skid or throttle issue. I was just suddenly off the track. A less than half second blackout seems to make the most sense, but I don't remember anything even remotely like that either.

Yeah. I've heard that from one other person as well. I guess when we're focused on what's ahead, we create a kind of mental tunnel vision, so it makes sense that physical tunnel vision could have been missed.
