bike1916 Rides with no training wheels

1997 Ducati 916 Biposto. I am the second owner, I've owned this bike longer than any other of my vehicles, longer than I've been married, longer than I've had kids. Bought it in 2002 and rode on the street until 2009 when I joined Sportbike Tracktime and started doing track days (2-3 per year). 21,300 miles on the odometer, but the last approximately 1,500 miles were track days in the novice group (100 miles per track day roughly). It's been down once at T3, Blackhawk farms, in the grass at about 10 mph (got new clipons then). It's mostly original equipment except for an aftermarket exhaust put on by original owner, Ohlins rear spring, apex clipons, carbon fiber front fairing (behind front wheel) and aftermarket chain cover. It's been maintained by the same mechanic (Ken Hall) since 2005-ish until he moved out of state. I've been running ethanol-free gas, 93 octane racing fuel since about 2010 or 2011. Newer apex clipons, newer battery (2015). Needs new tires. Clutch replaced around 2007. I'm including two pitbull stands. I removed, but still have, the original headlights, tailights, turn signals, rear footpegs, and mirrors (though I'm missing some of the screws to hold them in). I still have original fairings, but they have damage due to me not putting on the lower dzus fasteners on its last street ride (longer story for those with interest). Aftermarket fairings for track days were colored and painted by kids when they were small, and contain lots of stickers from non-sponsors. I have original key, 2 spare keys, owner's manual.

Last track day was Road America in 7/21/2015. However, the battery stays on a trickle charger and I always started it monthly to keep the fluids running (winter time maybe started it every 6-8 weeks). In all the time I've owned it, it might have seen rain three times.

Bad news. On 9/23/18 I took it for a 3 mile, otherwise uneventful drive and afterwards discovered oil leaking, possibly a head gasket. I just can't keep it anymore. Everytime I start this bike the exhaust sound makes me not want to sell, but now the time has come I have to. With growing kids, a new job, and an ever increasing number of errands to do, I haven't been able to do a track day in three years now. I hate to sell but I can't have it sitting around without me even being able to start it once a month, waiting for me to have time for a track day.

Good news. Well taken care of bike. Wife always supported by track addiction, but she drew the line at keeping the bike in the living room in winter, which I did before she moved in. Bike has always been on pitbull stands when not used. Oil was changed yearly but not since my mechanic moved in 2016 (but no track days since then).

Pictures below. Located in Mount Greenwood, IL, far southwest side of Chicago, IL. Will gladly send photos of the damaged fairings or answer questions for anyone interested.

$1,500 OBO. All reasonable offers will be considered.
