Hi all, anyone ever put a supermoto on the kart track at road america or another kart track in the midwest? I am curious about your experience. I currently have a drz400sm that is geared, so i think it would be WAY too slow to use on a full course during a regular track day (although i have seen some instructors do it in the past). I have ridden a 600 in the intermediate group on a number of occasions and even that felt too slow at times for the pace that most "I" groups run at. As an alternate, i am considering doing novice with the drz, but the morning session drills are somewhat of a deterrent. Ps. Winter sucks, bring on spring/summer already
Have you looked into USAIR in Shawano? I just built up a minimoto kx65 to ride there but people ride full size supermotos there too.
Hmmm, i havent but that looks like a blast. I might have to give that a go this summer! Do you know of any others closer to chicago?
Yep I go about 15 times a year to Road America cart track. Racing and trackdays., Your DRZ would be perfect. I will try to post the schedule for Road America trackdays for 2019 once it comes out. this is a trackday i brought both my bikes to do a shake down at the beginning of the end of the year last year.
We consumed Many Truck Loads of Beer and other liquids on that hill in the background over the years..... Always enjoyed watching the Tards during the MotoAmerica Races from there...
Haha, unfortunately i am one of the last people on earth without FB. But it looks like a public page, so i will keep my eyes out. I did see a post on there about pritzker's plan to decriminalize wheelies. Is that actually legit? Have to say i didnt even know the original law (criminalizing it) was in place. Good thing our lawmakers have been focused on the important issues. Anyway, this is all good info. I am going to have to start getting the bike setup for track riding.
