My engine is going to need a rebuild at the end of this season. I put together a spreadsheet with all the parts I need for a full refresh. Before I pull the trigger on buying all these parts individually, I'm curious if anyone has any knowledge of companies that put together things like gasket kits and ring sets for this engine at a slightly discounted price compared to buying components individually. I've never seen a rebuild/rering kit for sale for anything but HD. I guess theres SOME out there, but I;ve never came across one. Would love to find on for a YZF750R though. Got 94K miles on mine. Think it needs a freshing up.
Seems what would typically be the easiest step in an engine rebuild is anything but for the '08 600RR. Does anyone have experience with deglaze honing hypereutectic aluminum liners? I've been scouring the web trying to find a successful story about how to do this, but there are a wide range of opinions on the matter with very little substantive evidence to support a given course of action. Any experienced engine builders' input would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
