Of the few track days I've done, I've camped at the track. I live close enough to Gingerman that I go and sleep in my own bed. For those with more track experience than me, what's the protocol with leaving your bike at the track overnight? Lower your canopy over your bike and leave it? Put in back in the trailer? Appreciate some insights. Thanks!

I've seen many a rider lower their canopy and come back in the morning while others have loaded in the trailer just for peace of mind. I'm pretty confident your bike and property will be safe in either scenario.

Lower canopy and make sure it's got some weight holding it down if there's even a hint of stormy weather. Loading in trailer is also pretty common - I see about 50 - 50 split between the two options. If you happen to have pitted next to someone who is staying at the track - a quick discussion letting them know you will not be staying may give you piece of mind.

If the forecast looks OK then I'll lower my canopy over the bike and make sure it's secured to my trailer(rope, straps, etc). If there's a storm or it's windy then bike goes into the trailer and I'll drop the canopy. Any small stuff laying around always gets chucked into the trailer overnight.
