I just finished the 3 day event at Autobahn. It was my second time riding with STT. It just reconfirmed my thoughts after riding with you guys at Road America, awesome organization! I really enjoyed running all 3 tracks, and running them in that order made it easy to transition to the full course without trying to learn it all in one shot. I also wanted to thank all of the instructors who helped me out. Kevin gave me awesome tips and feedback, towed me around and really helped me with my line, super helpful. Also helped me really improve 3-4-5 of the North Course. Meister on the blue GSXR as well, showed me where I was wasting energy shifting body position for no reason. Pat gave some awesome feedback when I didnt even know I was being watched. George too, and theres others that I can't remember your names because I talked to/worked with every instructor I could find. It didnt seem like very many people were taking advantage to learn from the instructors but it meant I had free reign to all of them. Cant wait for the next event.
glad you had a fantastic time! we all wish more people would take advantage of us (that sounded bad ha!) at the events. novice almost always does but so many in intermediate and Advanced just think we are out rolling around. That couldn't be further from fact, we are constantly watching and evaluating , give a lap or two tows or even pulling some one in to talk about how to improve or what they were doing so right!
im guilty of not utilizing help available. Not sure why it is. I do try to catch up with a couple faces i recognize in the AM tech, but then never hook up. just creeping up from middle of intermediate to the quicker guys and would love some solid advice. on the other hand, i've found a really nice 85% pace that is so comfortable, i kinda enjoy the lack of drama. lol. i will definitely be looking for some help next time out. John white/grey primer blue tank GSXR750 (lol)
I forgot to mention being smooth. I rode novice on day 1 because intermediate wasnt available. My pace was good but I wasnt being smooth on the throttle. The instructor behind me told me he was watching my suspension get all upset by my crappy throttle control. That was a big area of improvement for me this wknd too. If I had tried to go faster I probably would have been one of the many red flags in the I group. I also did the race certificate class with k3 and really enjoyed that too. He's an awesome dude and him a his buddy were really helpful to a guy that was having some bike problems. I'm really excited about trying to get better/faster and try racing.
just wait till that 85% that you run now will be your 50% later.. grab us.. anyone.. dont worry about a familiar face.. see a orange jersey talk to an orange jersey. we love talking.. seriously we never shut up lol.. if that person cannot help you directly they WILL find you the person that can
Nice job this past weekend! Glad you learned so much from everybody. Can't wait to turn some laps again with you soon!
