    OK,
WHAT do I have to demonstrate to get to the I group?

I’m not a control rider, but:

    -Be smooth and consistent
-Make clean passes and good choices when encountering other riders

If you can put your bike in the same spot every lap, and don’t force bad passes, it doesn’t matter what your lap times are.

I do, I did. I have good BP. I'm predicatable. I'm smooth. I don't park it going into corners, etc.
I'm in shape, ride all the sessions, etc. Haven't crashed or run wide off track, etc.

I would suggest at your next track day, you get into group 1 or 2 and talk with a coach about wanting a bump to I. If all goes well, you could be in I as soon as session 4/5 that day. Just be sure your bike is prepped to pass tech for I. Stay safe out there.

Thanks, what extra prep does it need for the I group?

I think the big one is you must have a non-ethyl glycol based coolant such as engine ice or water with water wetter. Also a back protector is required in intermediate. I think safety wiring the oil drain plug/filter or securing with RTV may also be required.

Thanks, yesterday after I posted this I found the reqs. on the STT forum website.
I have a back protector, I'll RTV the filter and drain, and I'm ordering some engine Ice to go in too.

    Update:
OK, my Gixxer now meets or exceeds the Intermediate group tech. requirements based on those listed
Engine Ice after a 4x flush. Dab of RTV on the oil drain and the filter, Back protector - check. All other Tech is good too.
I plan to discuss it with the coaches on 7/25/21.

    Thanks for the replies,
    The Todd
