    Hi,
i'm looking to buy Airbag vest, something like Spidi Full Dps Vest, and wondering if anyone has experience with it, how tethering works on the track? is it restrictive if it's runs in-front? any information will be helpful

I use the HitAir brand. I have put it to use. It has worked for me on a few crashes. Every bit of extra protection is a plus. I'm an older guy, so I don't bounce back like I use to.

Do you feel like it really saved you from injury over the standard protection we normally wear?

I also use a Hit-Air vest and I tether it in front, under my seat. The tether is not restrictive at all. I do feel the CO2 canister when I am sliding across my tank, as it is in a pocket in the front of the vest. It doesn't bother me though. Although it does cause extra wear on the paint/tank pad. I have not yet deployed it, so I can't help you there. It does give me a little more confidence though!

I wear the hit air race vest they build the spidi neck one for them. I prefer the rear tether. it does a excellent job restraining your head and give some extra upper body protection

I am all over the tank and sometimes way off the bike so the race version was a better fit for my style even though it has less protection around the hips but I always where padded shorts

My vest tethers in the rear. Yes, I do feel that it provided extra protection. I have broken my right clavical twice , five years apart. I haven't broken anything wearing the HitAir. Been using them four years now. I completely destroyed one vest, destroyed my leathers and suffered quite a bit of road rash, But nothing broken. Maybe lucky, maybe chance. As I said, every bit of protection helps.

I looked through and you can't see the tether in any pics. I don't feel the tether there at all. I just feel the canister, especially in left handers, but it doesn't inhibit movement.

I bought the Hit Air race vest last year, tethers in the back.Don't even know I have it on,have to remember to snap the tethers together before taking off.Haven't had to use it,hope I never have to! I ran at BHF and RA last year and saw only one other rider wearing one.

I have the Hit Air race vest with tether in back. I never had any issues with the tether.
The vest is good quality. It comes with a back protector, which you can take out if you are wearing a race suit and back protector. Leaving out the back protector makes it a little easier to put on.
I did use it once -- at Mid-Ohio this season. Lost the rear coming onto the front straight and I came off the bike. I slid on the pavement for a ways.
My helmet never touched the ground, so the vest did its job. However, a good size hole was worn in the airbag from sliding on the pavement, so it looks like it was a one-time use. Theoretically, you can replace the cartridge for $18 and use it again -- if it didn't wear a hole in the airbag.
I liked the protection, but not sure it's worth $500. I haven't decided if I'll replace it. I did my last few track days this year without it.
    Jim.

I borrowed a vest from PilotX and wore it for the first time in August at the CCS BHF event. It was a race version, I never noticed the tether or the vest. I immediately ordered another vest from SaferMoto, unfortunately they were on back order and just arrived. The customer services from Alan and Beth was outstanding. They kept in touch throughout the whole process, until the vest was delivered.
