I just finished racing in the Canadian SuperBike series (CSBK) at Mosport. It was the final round and it was a double header. Mosport is ultra fast if you've never heard of it. Several 4th gear knee on ground corners. I qualified 9th and finished 9th on Saturday. I made it very hard on myself, did a wheelie:wheel: off the start and watched almost the entire field pass me. Passed about 7 riders on the first lap but the fast guys in the front were gone. Sunday went much better. I was 6th fastest in morning practice.:thumb: I was starting 9th again but this time I got a good start and buy the end of the first lap I was 5th. On lap 3 I make a sweet round the outside pass to grab 4th from #19 Dimitri Godard. This was the start of a great battle as we swapped 4th and 5th positions several times until lap 7. On lap 7 I blow it and catch a false neutral and go off course. I bring it back but lost 3 positions to finish 7th. Overall I very happy with the weekend. 4th would have been nice but I'm still happy with 7th at a national level event. Dropped 2 seconds off my lap times over the weekend and 6 seconds from last years times on the old bike. Here's a couple of my vids from Sundays race. One forward and one rear facing cam. When I get more time I'll edit them into one vid with pic in pic. The race starts at 10 secs in both vids so you can always open two windows and watch them that way. I was in a pack of 4 riders and from the sounds of it our group was the most exciting part of the race as the leaders where spread out with no passing. Good job Steve, I'll bet that class is really competitive and a lot of fun. Seems like pro sbk has a too much of a dynasty. You have more courage than I, that place looks.. fast
Here's another vid that helps put the speed thing in perspective. Think about the kink at Rd Atlanta except that you do a wheelie at 150mph https://youtu.be/kr761_NdQdA
heres a slow mo of the andreti straight of that spot in the pro race with an r1m carrying the front wheel :wheel: https://instagram.com/p/6apFUuGY3m/?fb_action_ids=10206286696062915&fb_action_types=instapp%3Atake&fb_ref=ogexp&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=%5B1190069231018566%5D&action_type_map=%5B%22instapp%3Atake%22%5D&action_ref_map=%5B%22ogexp%22%5D https://www.facebook.com/canadiansuperbike/timeline?ref=page_internal - csbk facebook page and a few photos i took when jess baby lucy and i were watching steve race - below :cheer:
Looks like a fun track to ride! Know if they have open track days? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Couple of pics Track map. Kind of reminds me of Rd Atlanta before they added the slow stuff Wife being a goof and taking pics of my riding around staying loose. Did I mention it was hot. Trying to stay cool while sitting in leathers waiting for the call to line up. Wearing a wet t-shirt and one on my head worked great but I look like a retard.:jester: So they call us up and then magically 5/6 competitors all in the same group miss the call while one of them works on his bike and we have to wait in the heat. At least they put us in the shade:wtf: Finally rolling out for our warm up lap. So it was a close battle for 4th to 7th. We were never father than this apart. Myself and the green zx-10 swapped 4th several times in 7 laps till I screwed up. And this pics tells it all. This is how much space I lost by running off the track. More than I could make up in the last 2 laps. My laps times, lost 5 seconds running off track as lap 7 shows.
Great show! Sync'd dual cameras are awesome, especially on a dual monitor setup. The motor audio is in stereo, sound is killer. That bus stop to uphill combo is punishing if you don't get the drive right (avoiding the wheelie on a TC bike), which made things interesting...Mosport has a few unique challenges we don't see down here.
