My wife is interested in taking on a track day. The road was not her cup of tea. She is very concerned about the supposed up grade to the track and utilizing my track bike. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to comfort her into this transition? I would rather turn her over to the forum; however, the sign on could confuse people

The closest and potentially easiest track is the Jennings GP. I think Moroso would be to much. The bike is an 01 SV 650. She wanted to by one of earl hayden's 125's this week at Road Atlanta....too be continued :(

The SV would be better . What trouble does she have on the street ? I feel basic skills should be be learned before she gets on the track .
Anything you say about how she rides can and will be used against you
    good luck .

She actually rides well, with a couple of clutch issues on take off. She completed the basic course for her D.L. and has had good luck riding her Katana. The Katana went away and she became partial to my Busa  I think she would be more comfortable without all of the traffic and the street scene!

The SV would be the better bike. 125's are too much work for a Novice rider and our class since we spend time doing single gear drills.

STT Novice class work will help her relax and learn the necessary skills. She should choose group 6 if she is really leary about track. This group caters to the nervous newbie.

To do a track day she should be comfortable at highway speeds and have full gear. No jeans. You may be able to rent leathers if you plan in advance.

As for tracks in the south I haven't ridden down there to give good advise on that, I am a midwest gal.

    Hope this helps.

You should do Roebling Rd, the Jenning STT event this was cancelled and JenningGP open days are a free for all not to good for a newbie. Unfortunately no more RR STT events this year, there is a Homestead event in Oct, Homestead is an OK track I ran Novice there last year. That is probable the only STT event for the rest of the year that is close to you, except Moroso (not a fan even being so close)
