Way more than those affected. I have seen multiple models fail. They just don't want to admit they are now making junk.
I was affected 2 weeks ago, had a seal leak/blow. I posted it on trackday junkies and they went crazy. Mine was OUTSIDE of the recall. Mine was manufactured June 16, 2015.
I contracted K&N last year when a friend of mine had this issue at Barber, along with several other riders, I never received a reply. From what I understand K&N moved manufacturing overseas and quality obviously has suffered. Even though my bikes use a cartridge filter I do not purchase from K&N any longer. HiFlo filters are manufactured to vary high standards, they are the only TUV certified motorcycle oil filter made.
Ok I give. Replaced the K&N with an OEM this afternoon before Autobahn tomorrow. Don't want to take a chance on being 'that guy'
