A friend crashed in novice session 3. He was asking if anyone had details. He thinks it was turn 3. I was further back in the groups and finished the session before the crash. He had a mild concussion and a fractured clavicle and is currently waiting for surgery. His words... He says he is very, VERY sorry if he caused the accident because he was behind the rider he eventually collided with, but as far as he can recall (says can't remember the point of impact then getting up), he says he was not trying to pass and it was a matter of different lines and speeds and suddenly ending up at the same place at the same time going into the turn. He thinks he froze and tried to brake to avoid contact instead of going into the turn together. Says ultimately, he was going too fast that early in the day. I went back with him to load the bike Sunday. Looks repairable. Had a nice rest of the day after that unfortunate event. Heard about the advanced incident, too. But overall had a wonderful day.
I was talking to a rider who said he saw what had happened. He said that one rider touched the rear wheel of the rider in front of him and they went down. There was another rider who was in the mix seemed to locked the front and went over the bars. Hope your friend and the others heal up fast.
