A friend of mine has recently purchased a Sidi Vertigo Corse. On one trackday session both soles caved in right where he place his foot on the pegs. (Just two track days on those $300+ boots) The bump on the inside of the boot makes it unwearable. Apparently this isn't an isolated case. I was wondering if anybody can recommend a shoe repair shop that could try to fix the boots. Thank you in advance!
pos sidis...ive glued mine twice... just take it to the local shoe repair place. They charged me $5 to put some heavy duty (probably shoe-goo) stuff on mine. It holds for a year or so.....pos sidis
Any shoe repair place will resole them at the malls for about $25... I have had a few sets done and they usually last longer than the originals...
That was the first thing he tried. Sidi didn't even bother to reply.... I have a pair of Vertigo too, no issues. But this problem left me pondering if I should get the Vortice next or look elsewhere(Astars Supertech R and TCX RS2 etc).
The new Sidis have replaceable panels on the soles that you can replace yourself. For the older models, you can find the correct replacement soles from Sidi with some searching, that you can then take to a cobbler to replace, otherwise a good cobbler should be able to do a replacement with generic sole material.
I've been riding the Sidi Vortice, their latest offering, for four years now and can't seem to wear them our or destroy them, even by crashing. Absolutely awesome boot.
i got my sidi's repaired at factoryresole.com. they put new, way better soles on the boots and they can really take a beating. ive had them done for almost 2 years, with vortex rearsets, and you can barely tell there is any wear. quick turnaround too
That'd be enough for me to go elsewhere. I've been wearing a pair of Pumas for @3 years. Had a few issues with some of the pieces on the boot and they replaced them free of charge.
Hey Heineken! My name is Ryan Daley and I am with Motonation, the US distributor of Sidi boots. This thread hit my email this morning and I wanted to see if there was anything we could do for you. When you said you contacted Sidi about this issue, did you contact Sidi or someone here at Motonation? Sidi doesn't offer the warranty on their products, the 2 year warranty is something offered by Motonation. I wanted to see if maybe they forgot to forward us this information from your contact or if someone in our warranty department dropped the ball and didn't get back to you. Either way, I apologize for your experience in trying to get this resolved quickly. Please feel free to hit me up at ryan@motonation.com
Factoryresole.com - best in the business as far as we are concerned. Any repair needed that pass the 2 year warranty from Motonation, we send to Jim at Factoryresole.com - He actually orders all of his soles from Sidi! Great place.
I have worn Sidi for many years. I had an issue a few years back with a new set I bought. I emailed motonation and they took care of me perfectly. As a matter of fact, I just ordered a new set of vortice boots and waiting for them to arrive to replace my old ones. Nice to see Ryan jump in this thread and try to help. Ltyson Sent using Tapatalk
Ryan, Thank you for the reply. I will send you an e-mail later on with all the details and photos. Thanks, Bogdan
Typical MotoNation. Their customer service is superb, not just with Sidi but also with AGV Sport and Vemar.
Hello my name is Boris. I'm new to the forum but not to STT. I'm the owner of the Sidi's in this thread and would like to share my experience with Sidi boots. Here are the attempt to communicate with MotoNation in reverse order (after the last email there was no reply, go figure): From this experience I can assure you I'm not a Sidi customer no more. That is all. Boris.
We're you finally satisfied? I am in the market for new boots but will not buy Sidi if they will not stand behind their products. I at least will get a full season from the $80 pair of track boots that I bought last year. Mine also failed and they look to be replacing my pair at no charge. I will reserve the brand name untill I get my new pair.
Well I can say that I am not impressed with their customer service. I was looking at a pair of Sidi's for my next set, but I guess I will stay with A* as I have not had this problem with them, but have had a similiar problem with a set of running shoes. The reason for the problem with my running shoes, after tearing them apart, was inferior interior material. Looks like Sidi is on my "no contact" list. Thanks for the heads up Bogdan.
