watching the weather, it looks like rain on Sunday for the RA on Nov. 1
What is the rain policy? been looking on the website and not having much luck. Both days are pre-paid. Any info is greatly appreciated. Cheers,

back when I started track days it was explained like this all the corner workers and track is paid for well in advance .
so you can chose to suck it up in ride or sit it out and cry LOL

I have seen more bikes go down in the dry then I have in the wet... Well yeah there are less bikes out in comparison but if you follow the drills we teach in Novice and rely on your fundamentals in the other groups you will have just as rewarding of a day.
    Its still track time!!!
Couple less pounds of air, decrease lean angle, smooth input, and good body position are the keys to success!

My first track day was in heavy rain conditions. I was kinda scared at first but once I got used to it, I discovered how well my tires worked which is a good thing! You learn how to be smooth on the throttle and brakes as well. I fully recommend rain riding as it will make you a better, well rounded rider.

Weather Policy (from the STT website under HELP / Policies & Procedures)
    • All Sportbike Track Time venues have a "rain-or-shine policy".
    • The track facility may call rain days and you must be present to receive a voucher.
    • Rain-check vouchers are non-transferable and expire 12 months from date of issue.
    • In the extremely unlikely event that management at a venue calls the day prior to any on-track activity due to the track being deemed "non-ridable", a make up date may be issued for a future date of the venues choosing. This date will be the sole remedy and Sportbike Track Time will issue no refunds/credits for future events.
    • An event voucher will be issued to all riders scheduled for the event. This voucher may be transferred to another current STT member of the same skill level group if desired.

A couple of more things to keep in mind if the liquid sunshine does happen.
    1. Use a higher gear than you would normally use at any given place on the track.
    2. Get most, if not all of your braking done while the bike is straight up and down.

Looks like my first track day will be in the rain at Barbers on tomorrow Nov 7th!

Oh well, Looks like others are in line and ready to ride, despite the 90% chance of rain tomorrow.

Also, you can take it as an opportunity to experience the magic of rain tires. I love track days in the wet!

I saw all sorts of different gear this weekend.
Since going over leathers, seems as long as it won't come off your good.

I had a WASH OUT at Barber a few years ago, river crossings in turn 5. I had the Dunlop GPA tires at the time ... it was terrible ... sliding out with the bike standing up. Then I had a somewhat lighter rain day at Road Atlanta, this time with Michelin Power tires - this was much more enjoyable. I was still able to get enough heat in the tires to turn some fast laps. Good practice to be super smooth on the controls.
