Yep, she didn't know she could enter and we all sort of talked her into it so we're lucky there were even that many. Kind of an unfair fight between a 600 and a 125 but we had been running the same times all weekend. I wish there would have been more girls out there. Megan Stiles should have been out there but her dad broke her bike. She wouldn't have gotten the #1 plate though since she's AMA Pro licensed. Same for Melissa Paris who only ran her 250 in the USGPRU race. Hopefully they keep the class and more women enter next year! That's my whole reason for plugging along and entering as many of the the women's races as I can. edit: Tea should have really been there as well, but she was too busy trying to learn new stunting moves at BHF and trying to break herself in half.
Chrystal puts up a good pace on her 125- I've ridden with her a number of times. there's a lotta fight in her tiny little frame. Too bad there wasn't a bigger turn out- Most of the women racers that I know on the east coast run with WERA & didn't turn out for AMA's & are going to the GNF instead. shame. Hopefully the Michelin/Femoto championship will have a bigger turnout.
Crystal was workin' it. She was also at a disadvantage since it was her second race in a row. It looked like she was maybe getting tired because she started making mistakes. I didn't get a chance to talk to her but if you see her tell her I said hi, and that it was fun racing with her.
I will! There's a chance she'll be out with us this Saturday; if she is, I'll be sure to say hi to her for you. I think I'll also have to give Tea a hard time for not going, too... 3
