    Hello all,

I am in a bind for tires right now. I currently use Q3's which I like a lot yet, my tires on my bike have 2 full weekend of track days on them so my grip is probably low. I have signed up for the 3 days for labor day weekend at Autobahn. I am kind of tight for money right now and I cannot fork $300 dollars for the Michelin tires. so my question is what is in the $250 range besides the Bridgestone's S21, and the Q3's. Are the s21 any better than the Q3's or the same just wondering.

I like the Michelin 2ct. But I'm just a lowly novice.

your tires are completely worn after 2 weekends? might want to pay a visit to whoever is doing suspension setups that weekend.

Sjona, that is my goal I already talked to Joe D he will be doing suspension set ups at Blackhawk that weekend. So my first day I will go get that set up and see how it goes. I am a novice too, I been riding with group 2 at the two weekends that I did. Also I do riding outside of the track.

DSC94 - Same here I enjoy the pace and the instructions of getting to know your machine.

S21s are great. They're $220 a set and you get $50 back. The Q3s are also on sale for about $260 with a $60 rebate, if you want to stick with what you already know.

Post a picture of what you have now. If they have tread left above the wear bars, then they're good to go.

let me get home and ill post a picture.
How long do the Q3 usually last, I was told to not do more than 4 track days on them. My guess is I can do more than I was told huh?

if you're not to the wear bars then you're perfectly OK. 4 days in novice, you shouldnt be anywhere near them.

post a pic of your tires.
I've done 3 days at barber, 2 days at CMP and 2 days at Tally on the same Q3's and I run lower to mid A group. Granted they are completly toast......but it sounds like a serious suspension issue ......

no way should you need tires....
unless you already have 5k miles of street use one them.

Yeah, don't listen to that person. Tires are good so long as they have rubber left on them. Use the wear indicators.

I put 1000 miles on my Michelins and did a TD at Tally and Barber and still good for Road Atlanta in a couple weeks.

IF you can buy a Q3 PLUS, DO IT. I've seen them hang like nobody's business...

I used to do at least 4 weekends in Advanced with Q3s before a rear was done. You should have plenty of life left. You can go at least to the wear bars.
