WERA has added a Women's C Superstock race class to all of their regions. Thank you to Bonnie and Michelin for all of their work in getting this class implemented.

So come one ladies, get on out there.

    So has CCS!

I think it's a great idea and I hope it attracts more women to the racing :)

    Thanks Bonnie!!

Yes! We def need more girls in the NE and MA regions!! I can't be racing against myself out there - thats no fun at all!!

If any girls in the NE or MA regions need help getting started, please get in contact with me. It's usually much easier to have someone there to pit with and walk you through everything b/c the first morning can be somewhat confusing. My E-mail is Katie785@gmail.com

Hope to see some girls out there!!
Next rounds are: Summit April 4-5 and Nelson May 3-4

    Woot! C'mon ladies!

Looking forward to racing this season with Supergirl. I know we've got 3 for sure for FMMW in the midwest, with a couple of maybes, and I think 3 or so more in great plains region. I'd be stoked if we can get up to a grid of 10 for either lightweight or middleweight.

Are the women of WERA planning on going to Barber or the Mid-Ohio Road Race Grand Championships? Mid-O is technically part of our midwest schedule, and it'd be super cool to see other ladies at that event.

Thanks Bonnie and Michelin for putting this together, lets hope it gets more women riders out on the track battling for $3 pieces of wood!

I'm not on Michellin, so I can't do any of the Femmoto stuff,

But I'm STILL the only girl in the NE or MA riding this Women's Superstock... I hear there will be another at Nelson this weekend, but ugh..

Anyone doing the GNF in October at Road Atlanta??? I would like to be able to see more than me at least there! lol

You don't have to be on Michelins to run in the Femmoto class. It is required just at barber at the end of the year

"[...]Michelin is making the class a part of Femmoto, all ladies will be invited to run at the finals as long as they race on Michelin tires at the final event. Women can race all season long on the tire of their choosing but at the final event at Barber they must race on Michelin tires and identify their bikes with Michelin logos and patches on leathers required to earn contingency or championship bonus. Why wait until the final to run on Michelin time[...]"

    Jennings Barber Nashville

I am going to try to hit the last of the WERA races in the SE. Not sure if I will hit Summit, but I may...it is an 'off' weekend.

Will you be at Barber in OCT??

Femmoto Michelin Cup Race... For Real?

Anyone know how I can do this Michelin Cup race? It is an invite and I need an invite. Sent a few e-mails to Michelin but no reply. Not sure if this is set up to be some clown show or just a circus of jumping through hoops to a ring of fire. I'd love to see a solid, classy, fast womens field at Barber, but currently I don't even know how to get entered myself. So much getting info from the big dogs. Help me out cats! Lets make this thing work!

as of Sunday, the points leader in WSS SE didn't receive an invite to the MICH race in OCT. She's contacted MICHELIN, still waiting to hear something back. I've been waiting to hear something back from my contingency. But without 6 girls on the GRID...

    forget the payouts.

FYI: Canada has an established women's circuit.

Haven't seen any invites on the CCS side either.

AWracing - have you entered any of the WSS with WERA or Femmoto with CCS races this year? My understanding of the rules for all the classes at the Barber event was that the invites for the event go out to those who have earned contingency money.

I'm not sure how they're handling it for WSS, since there seems to have never been more than 6 entries, nor any payouts?

CCS has been paying out 1st place for FMMW and FMLW no matter the grid size, and we've had a few FMMW races with six entries.

The MICH WSS OCT race was to invite the Top 5 Point leaders in each region, regardless of contingency money. That appears not to be the case, at all.

If I would have known the invites were tied to contingency money at the start of this year, I would have concetrated my efforts in another class; possibly another racing ORG.

My race year didn't go as planned due to the death of Sutton, but this is really really really disappointing.

Barber Nationals are next week...so far it will be Suzy, Karen and Dawn eligible on the grid. any other ladies coming to Barber this weekend???

Hope to see you out there, or..I'll see ya in Canada.

My information certainly is probably wrong. ;) ... and I'm pretty sure it has changed a couple times... and it seems nobody knows what's going on.

I enjoyed having the Femmoto class far more than I thought I would. We managed to get at least one girl licensed and racing, who wouldn't be racing otherwise, and it gave some of us the opportunity to race with people we never would have had the opportunity to - Melissa Paris entered a couple times when USGPRU came through the Midwest since we had big enough grids. Yes I got lapped by her, but it was still a cool experience, and it gave Megan, our local fast girl, someone to race with.

Anyhoo... The girls racing in the Canadian series did a lot of work themselves, and put a lot into building that series. I think if the women currently racing in the US want to have a solid women's series in the US, I think we really need to do the same.

I just don't know if the interest is really there. Most of the women racers I know don't see a need for a women's only class, and the women I see at track days, have no interest in racing.

I also see exactly zero little girls in the 125 and Moriwaki USGPRU classes. If we want more successful women road racers, we have to figure out how to make it accessible like MX where there are lots of little girls starting out. Blah blah blah... I could go on and on about this. ;)

I appreciate your response, and I completely agree that the women have to pull together to make this work.

Truth be known, if you want to know how good you are run Superstock C. that is what I've been told. "Meatgrinder"

I was against a separate womens class until I saw an opportunity that would selfishly promote my personal need for adrenaline. =] I am all for this series, and it's success...but you are so right....We have to start showing up!

Hell, I've rented my house(s), sold my boat(s), and furniture just so I can live in a FEMA trailer to race next year.

I am one sick puppy!!! ....looking for some others Cougars to race with on the track.

ABLE TO TRAVEL TO OTHER REGIONS =]

Well, that's the thing, I have no interest in running the regular middleweight classes, especially as an amateur. If you're not out in the front off the start, there's a lot of dodgy riding that goes on in the middle of the pack. One of our friends broke his foot last week because someone made a stupid move. No thanks.

The Femmoto races have always been low stress and fun. We've been paired with other classes that had other people to race with, and weren't as insane as the middleweight classes.

If there's a women's middleweight class in the Midwest next year for CCS, you should come up and hang out with us. :)

mm71 if you're up for traveling come race with our ladies class in Colorado, MRA Ladies of the Rockies. We have a fantastic new track just outside of Denver and we get good women's grids. Of course you can race the other classes too, here's our club's website....

I am completely mobile for the sake of racing.
    Thank you so much!!

for the record....WERA is committed to making this WSS work, however without consistant participation on the grid...success is limited.

thanks so much for the link.
    that is great news!!
