The "point" is that they are fun. They bring a whole new element to the track experience. If you have never tried it, maybe you should.

They are normally a "hit". I reckon there just weren't many riding couples at Jennings that weekend. Normally there are several couples on the track.

Lora and I were the one of the "couples" you mentioned that did it on Sunday at Jennings.

Jennings is the only track (in the Southeast) where there is a seperate 2up session. Normally the 2up's ride in/with the last Novice session of the day. Jennings rules do not allow 2up's on the track with other riders, hence the seperate session.

With a 30min of track time out of every hour for two days straight, you got a ton more track time than you will at any other event...so I don't see how you can feel you got "cheated". Question

Out of curiosity, did you ride the full 30min of every one of your other sessions throughout the weekend?

STT always has a 2 up session at the end of the day. It just happens that Jennings is the only track that only allows people riding two up on the track that way.I can understand how if you didn't know that you may have skipped out on the session beforehand and maybe lost some time I can't imagine anyone being cheated on purpose especially since everyone had 30 minutes out of every hour to ride. I think Mark Sheldon could answer any question you have. Why don't ya send him a PM or email and he will be glad to explain it to you... Hope that helps you understand the situation better.

i'm pretty sure stt has them so they get more dollars per minute you get to ride.

it's simple math, either charge more, or let them ride less.

it's all an evil scheme to save up more money for cones.

I'd like to take my wife for a spin on a 2-up ride, but my bike doesn't have a passenger seat, or pegs...

I could bring my street bike, I guess, but going from my RR to my EX 500 might be a recipe for disaster... 5 yr old well-tuned suspension > 13 yr old pogo stick :p

sorry i think my original post came across a bit more harsh than i intended.

that makes sense that its normally with the last session. i was just unaware that stt does this, and i was a bit shocked that tey would make something like 60 riders get off the track to let 4 go on.

chaos, yes i rode all of every session over the weekend.

It didn't really matter how many sessions you rode all day. The fact is you didn't know they did 2up sessions like that

No worries

here in the midwest (at grattan anyway) they do the 2-up session at the end of lunch or just after (can't remember)...but it is run as it's own session.

it is a valid point to try to hook it up with one of the novice sessions instead of running it by itself.

That's what we do here Jig but we do the last novice session of the day. I reckon Jennings has to be different

It is usually run together with the ladies only session.

My fiance and I have done the two-up session several times and we both had a great time. She prolly enjoys it more than I honestly.

Also, if your girl is being a trooper and hanging with you all day it gives her something to look forward to and she can join in the excitement of being on the track.

I think it's a great idea.

I am not sure I recall us ever doing a ladies only session. I imagine Mark would if enough ladies were there who requested it.... it does say it on the site... but I dont think that has been the case at any days I have been at.

Very good point.

On weekends when Lora didn't ride, the 2up session meant so much. She would start getting excited about it at the house while packing her gear up and would be looking forward to it all day.

It really is a lot of fun. It is a different kind of fun than regular track riding. It is sorta like regular track riding, except with a "team" feel to it.
