Come on, pay attention.:boink: :jester: We just covered this last week in this thread here http://www.sttforum.com/showthread.php?t=9638
Sidi and Alpinestars are the most common I see, but make sure it has the hard armor surround on them - the ankle areas, toe sliders are fairly standard, and some type of side support preventing bending. The cheaper, street versions don't offer near the protection I like to see. Just an FYI, I have a new pair of Sidi's I'm selling (size 40 eu), but they might not match your bike if it's blue :/
We are having a sale on SMX Plus' right now for $297 - can't beat it! http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Categories.bok?category=Alpinestars+SMX+Plus+Boot+SALE
I really like my Sidi's but have always wanted to try the SMX. Will I like them as much and will a size 43 fit the same?
There's good and the bad with each. My rear sets ate straight through the sidi's in one season, ordered replacement soles, problem solved. Last year I switched to the top of the line alpinestars, they didn't last long before both plastic straps broke off and I lost the zipper in the right boot. Lee Plonske had the same issues with his, good thing we had some duck tape to finish the day. My vote would be the Sidi's but the alpinestars were easier to get on and off.... Okay maybe the Alpinestars lol. They both have there ups and downs.
be nice YETI.... we have a young lady that needs help.:ride: lets help... :hat: http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Categories.bok?category=Alpinestars+SMX+Plus+Boot+SALE stg has a sale on alpinestars. sidi's are great boots but, the best of the best (vortice) are not offered in many ladies sizes. i do love my sidi vortice though, probably the best boot i have ever put on. Ski
Thanks ski! Lol yeah I have small feet when it comes to guys sizes. But I'll definitely look into sidi, I've been looking at alpinestars.
My Sidi got the soles ate thru pretty quick, and I had issues with the plastic straps getting caught up in the rearsets sometimes (didn't like that one bit). Then I tried the Astars Supertech R - no problems so far with the soles, but the real reason I bought them was because they are smooth in the inside with nothing to hang...perfect...
Boots were purchased as brand new and the damage was caused by ONE trackday with gsxr stock rear set! Definitely I would recommend TCX over any other brand, that's from my own experience between TCX,Alpinestar and Sidi
I love my SMX Plus', I can wear them all day at the track and be comfortable. They also fit pretty true to size, so as long as you wear a 9 in most shoes, the 43 should work.
