Hey everyone. Decided to create a account here because my track addiction is growing. A little about myself for those that care ha. Im currently enlisted in the Air Force as a crew chief on the c-130j's. Deployed in the desert right now. Im stationed in Little Rock so its a decent drive for me to get to the nearest tracks but its worth it!. Currently I have a 2011 zx6r with just some basic upgrades -HOTBODIES PLASTICS -M4 SHORTY -PC-V -K/N AIRFILTER - -1+2 GEARING I'm looking to get new rearsets when I get back to help with my body position( 6ft and feel crunched while tucking into the corners...) I have a AGV Sport Willow 1PC suit with a Bell Vortex Helmet. For boots I have joe rocket superstreet which will also be upgraded once Im back. Gloves are on the list as well lol. Mainly due to the massive holes in them after putting 18000 miles on them. First picture is when it was on the street but now its converted over to the track.
from one new guy to another... just gonna give you my input on my tire choice. I have found that asking experienced track riders "what tire should I go with" your gonna get a lot of options as there are several great tires to choose from. I took a good friends advice and went with the Dunlop q3's.. this was a little tough for me to put faith in because I have literally ridden on nothing but michelines riding on the street. for the past 5 years. needless to say I'm glad I took his advice. great tire and I have all the faith in the world in them! especially at 260 for the set! just wanted to throw that out there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks everyone. I know it's far out and all but when does the new schedule come out for 2015? It's in jan? Excited here over just thinking about the upcoming season. Also if anyone has aftermarket rearsets for my bike, I'm interested!
X 4!!! Loved you crew guys when I served 75th Ranger 86-90. :rawk: Welcome to the addiction, which started for me at age 45.
Got a few question's. I'm about to install my vortex rearsets and my clipons(vortex also) and its says "the adjustability of these rearsets will require that you install a longer hose between the rear brake master cylinder and fluid reservoir. Brake fluid hose is included in kit. Once you decide on footpeg position hose length can be adjusted". First, I don't see a hose kit unless I'm wrong in thinking its another rubber hose? And secondly, would I be able to play with the adjustment during a day at the track without running into the issue of the hose length? Any tips with either will be great. youtube has a few videos on other models but should be pretty straight forward. Thanks!
Mini update- Rattle canned the plastic's. Was going for the motocard race bikes design and didn't have the kawasaki green available. Still came out good IMO for track plastics. Installed the vortex rearsets and vortex clip ons. Have not had a chance to play with them yet but will soon. First track day is at Barber, May 9th. Need to swap out the tires as well. Always had the q'3 and will probably stick with them for the money/effectiveness.
