For those that are planning on going THANK YOU! For those on the fence or have never been sign up now... The weather will be great and CMP is the best hidden secret in the South IMO... If you like Barber and Road Atlanta its a combination of the 2 not to mention a go kart track for after hour shenanigans... I will do a Low Country Boil Sat night for all that come and it's always a good time... Hope to see some new faces and the ugly old ones there...
I doubt I'll make it. A friend of mine did the unthinkable and scheduled his wedding for that Saturday without checking my track schedule. Wait, maybe friend is too strong a word, after all he didn't check with me. LOL
i'm hoping to make it if it doesn't sale out before I can buy a spot. Getting married myself on the 7th and honeymoon after. Money will be tight but if I can spare the money, i'll be there.
I had this on my schedule last year but had to cancel. Haven't been to this track yet and would hate to miss a party! I'll have a look at the date and see if I can get it in. Long drive for me! Rats! I'm at Mid Ohio on the 16-17th and then Road America June 4-6. If it was closer, I would certainly do it but that's a long drive and a tight squeeze on my time and budget. Maybe later in the year.
Not been to Tally yet, but NCM eats them pretty smooth, CMP takes them thru the meat grinder (it's the seashells in the asphalt)...
Tally is pretty bad because its super heavy in lefts....but if you stay a weekend and do a flip on the rear, its not so bad. Nervous to see what CMP does to a tire if there are shells within the asphalt.
I have never had too many issues with tires at CMP.... Just watch out for turn 1.... The off camber end of straight can bite you.....
Its nice to be back! Just signed up for my first track day in what will be 6 years! I have done 3 days at CMP before with SBTT and Nesba. Excited to be back! Does anyone know if they close the gates at a certain time on Saturday night? I am going to try to get in that night but it will be late since my Nephew is graduating from High School on Saturday. Looking forward to meeting everyone and maybe get some of that low county boil if there is any left over!
Per the last Facts for CMP "Gates open Friday approx 6:00pm close 9:00pm EDT. Re-open Sat 7am-9pm, Sun 7am-5pm EDT. CMP is in the Eastern time zone."
Be careful at Mid-Ohio. If that track is wet or cold it's unbelievably slippery. I'm not kidding, ask around.
