My father in law has a gold wing. He come to the races with me but was wanting to get more skilled(comfortable) at riding his bike. Would he be able to ride it in N?? I know he couldn't pass to I or A, but thought maybe N. Don't know, just asking for him.
I live in the Knoxville area and we had a local rider on a Gold Wing do a track day or two on his Wing at Road Atlanta. I don't have any idea how stock the bike was as far as suspension and such, but he was a very good rider and was passing a lot of folks in the Novice group. It's been three or four years ago, but as I recall it was a dark Red one.
Keith, are you talking about the Yellow one? If you are, that is Rick......Yellow Wolf! Yes, I've ridden a few times through the Gap with him. Back in his heyday (2007 or so), he took Peggy for a Gap run on the back of the Wing. She was lovin' it.
Thanks guys! See ya soon at the track. I'm running in WERA so my TD days are limited to when I have extra funds. Another friend just bought a new R6(I'm a terrible influence) so he got a free day with you guys. Couldn't be more stoked about that. So we'll see you guys soon down at the track, maybe wing a GoldWing in tow.
Just remember that the stock suspension on the Gold Wing is pretty soft in the front. Make sure the front tire isn't cupped at the start of the day, and you should be good.
No problem on the Goldwing... unless we go to Jennings and then, well..... nevermind. Anyway, yea. It just takes a LOT of painter's tape to tape up those headlights..... t
HAHA. I text him after Vern said he didn't see why not and told him he would be good to go. He asked what he needed besides boots and gloves(he'll rent a suit). I said ... a lot of painters tape. Lmao.
Let me know what brand painter's tape he's gonna buy........I may buy some shares of stock before he buys it.
