Our group from Columbus Ga was at NCM Bowling Green Ky for a track weekend. We attended a fund raiser for Air Fencing to place more at this track. They made the sad announcement of what happened at Barber and the room fell silent. Everyone there felt sorry for the persons family. Barber is like my home track which I have ridden many times. Can't imagine what the family is going thru. Many thoughts and prayers for them.
No matter what we ride, where we ride, or how we ride, we are all family. any rider whether I have met them or not is family. RIP my friend
Having experienced loss of close family members in my life time, I know how hard this time is for family & friends. With that being said I also know how expensive it can be getting all the details taken care of. Does anyone from the STT staff know if there will be a gofundme page set up & if there is please let me know. Every little bit of help will go a long way for the family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the rider, their family, friends and our STT Staff family. Given the risks we take to enjoy this sport it is never easy to swallow news of this magnitude. RIP rider!
Some of the guys from LSR have been in contact with the family and said a GoFundMe may be coming eventually. From what I gather the family isn't fond of anything motorcycle related (understandably) at the moment.
Not to be disrespectful or grotesque, but does anyone know what led to the crash? What happened? I only want to know so that, if it's possible, I can try not to make the same mistake. Maybe someone with some more info on the situation could PM me. I was in that group and passed the accident soon after it happened. You could immediately tell that it was a critical situation. I prayed for the guy all the way to the pit. The sight of the aftermath of the accident has been messing with me since Saturday. I can't get it out of my head. God please bless his family and give them peace.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” R.I.P fellow rider
Just awful!! I don't think I've ever heard of someone dying at a trackday before. Did the rider hit a wall or something?? Barber is a really safe track from what I've heard. Deepest condolences to riders friends and loved ones.
Unfortunately, you can't eliminate all the risk, no matter how hard you try, except to not do it. Sometimes crap happens. It sucks.
The Air Fence would have not been a factor. Barber is one of the safest if not the safest track in the United States....
RIP, and condolences. I think Huey said it best. "He knew, he did. We know, we do." I think we can all relate.
