Noticed that my trusty Bell Star has hit its 5th birthday, so I'm shopping for a replacement. I stuck with Bell in the past because of their awesome photochromic shield, but it looks like the current Stars aren't compatible with the older shields. I like Bell, but I'm open to other brands now that I can't use my shield anymore. What are your favorite helmets right now? Thinking anywhere in the $400-$800 range.

Still a Bell fan. Started with the RS-1's then moved to the Star. Now wearing the race star and love it. Just be aware sizing has changed with the new ones and you will have to go up a size or two so you need to try one on first to get the right fit.

If you liked the previous generation of the Star, you'll love the new Race Star. Like Dave said, try them on first. I have always worn a medium in the older Star, RS1, and Vortex, but had to go up to a large in the Race Star.

The best helmet is one that fits you. I went to my big-box scooter store with no intention of buying a Arai. I tried on everything else, and some were good, bad, or just OK. The sales guy suggested the Arai, so reluctantly I tried the RX-Q. Now I own 2 of them.

Yeah, that's how I ended up with Bell originally. It was the best fit at the right price.

I did decide to go with a new Bell Star (and was also a bit surprised about the sizing change). Here's hoping that Bell releases a new design for the photochromic shield.

Everyone's head shape is different, so some will fit better than others.

My first helmet was a Suomy and I liked how it fit. The second Suomy I bought did not, so I started using my street Arai Corsair V. I just got a Corsair X and I think it's gonna be great.

I've had mostly Shoei but got a Corsair X last year and like it a lot.

I'm gonna try and sell my Suomy to someone whose head may fit it better.

Been wearing Suomy since 2002 (other than the Shoei on the HD). I do miss my Suomy Spec1R. Fit freaking perfect. My Suomy SR Sport's are just as good.

The RPHA Pro-11 seems like the best bang for buck track day lid.

I'm curious on the X-Lite and Schuberts

I had a Built when I bought my first bike.

I've had a couple of AGVs.

    And I have a LS2 Arrow.

I prefer the LS2 Arrow. Fits my head shape the best, the peripheral vision is amazing. Vision while in the truck is unreal. I love it. I've only used it as my track helmet though. My AGV is still my street helmet.
