I had a very long car ride this weekend and was day dreaming about the track, thinking about things I want to buy and upgrades I want to do.

I was wondering if anyone (especially the guys down south) ride with a cool suit or cool vest in the middle of the summer? How's it fit under the leathers? Is one brand better than another. We are considering a trip south this summer, Barber or Tally, and being from Michigan, I expect it might be a little warmer down there than we are used to.

Thanks for any feedback, I'm going to go stare at the snow now.

I have worn one of the vests that you get wet...when it's REALLLLY hot, I have a -separate- ice cooler that I put the vest in, wring it out and put it on before I go out each session. It will at least help some on the pits waiting in the heat to go out..once you start riding you have the air to help. When I come back it it's usually steaming when I put it back in the cooler....The key is, if you are a I or A rider, to go out fairly late so you aren't sitting still in the stifling heat too long. I'd give it a b...

I have something similar if not the same thing. As mentioned, it's really only helpful when you first throw it on, but that's enough for me. For the price, I'd say it's worth it. The main issue I have with it is if I do end up sitting in the pits in the miserable Midwestern humid air for a while, it ends up just holding body temperature water against my torso, which is not enjoyable. As long as I head out a little late and throw it on right before hitting the pits, it feels freaking amazing.

Pull your big girl panties on and deal with it! Just hydrate and come hydrated and all will be well...

    Shorty,
When it’s hot I would always pour a little water down my neck and chest before it went on track. Works well.

Then in the pits a cool towel in my cooler around my neck helps.
Or I just get out of my leathers every session which is not really practical for a coach.
