Yeah, yeah, Ohlins TTX. Okay, don't want to shell that out right now, what else can I do to improve feedback from the rear?

Right now I have stock everything except woodcraft rearsets and Armour Bodies track fairings. I did have the stock-style tail with the stock seat (it was damaged beyond repair in a highside), and I've been told the superbike tail with a piece of foam would help. Any other little tricks, or am I stuck buying or modifying a rear shock?

Now that I think about it, a TTX cost less than my medical bills... :frusty:

    Thanks!

You can turn in some more compression damping on the rear. Especially on a stock shock. That will help.

Explain what you are feel or gain? Typically if you aren't running a good pace, you're not going to get a whole lot of feed back.

Have you had the suspension setup for your weight with proper springs? Have you had the shock serviced? If you haven't had it serviced, you probably should. You could look at doing Race Tech Gold Valves in the shock. Have it serviced and nitrogen set properly.
But if you're going to do all that, you might as well get a new shock. You don't need a TTX. Look at a double clicker Penske. If you buy a new Penske, they build it to your needs. If you buy a used shock, you'll want to have it checked out and refreshed.

What kind of pace are you running? what tires?
You can have the stock shock re-valved but dont expect miracles. If you want a shock get one :)
I have a TTX on one R6 and a older PRXB on the other, both work great so don't be afraid of getting a used shock and having it set up for you.

another benefit of an aftermarket shock is ride height adjustment. 08+s can get some extra weight in the rear by raising the front of the bike, but 06/07s don't have the extra 10mm fork length that 08+s do. therefore, it helps a lot if you can lower the rear end instead.

i've had much better luck with a penske over an ohlins TTX shock on these bikes. a great feature for an r6 is also the optional top out spring.

Not a good thing on an R6. The forks can be dropped 5mm below flush with no problems.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I had a similar issue with my '10 R6 except I had no feedback up front. I was considering selling the bike after my second track day on it! First I had Superbike Suspension set-up my bike for me(also all stock parts), and switched to Dunlops. I know it's like a sin to run anything other than Michelins with STT, but personally I get WAAAAAY more feedback with the Dunlops. With this combination it feels like a completely different bike! Love it!
