Anyone have experience swapping the OEM handlebars for clip-ons? I'm leaning towards the Vortex.

I broke the clutch one and was going to switch to clip-ons. However, it appears that the OEM steering dampener is integrated to that bar. By swithing to clip-ons, will I also have to upgrade the dampener?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Re: '07 Yamaha R1 Clip-On Updgrade

i use woodcraft clip ons and have had good luck with them
the nice feature with woodcraft is that they are a split into two halfs and if you have to remove them for what ever reason you wont have to drop your fork tube out of the top triple clamp
im not saying there is anything wrong with vortex but they are not split
    as for your damper issue
i have a 09 r1 and if i remeber correctly my factory damper was tied into my bottom triple clamp
so if yours is tied into your clip on you might be screwed
    as after market dampers go
im using a gpr on the r1 and i also use scotts on my other bikes im happy with both but i like the scotts more
    good luck .....................wayne
