:amen: Mike said it all. Bring the 250. You'll have a ball and the "moving chicane" thing won't be an issue in Novice. Besides Dave, I have a premonition that if you move up to a bigger bike and buy RS Taichi leathers, you'll just crash anyway.... :first:
Kellie is starting to ride Did MSF this summer and i got her a crf230f for,Valentine's day. (Somebody ask Havelka about his ride on it at the MotoBS party) Looking real hard at getting her 250r and starter track bike Teach great engine/throttle management for the step,up 600 bike Perfect tool for, learning to,corner like a boss Cheap as chips and the exit strategy is sell it for close to,what you paid for it or hand down to our daughter who is becoming a rider. 2nd gen has 17 inch wheels which is a big deal They are cheap as hell A,sideways bonus from blow bys on the straights, it gets you in passing mindset before jumping to I and a 600 I don't see many downsides
My son has a very nicely sorted one for sale. If you like details and have facebook, you can check it out in his race page "TheDraik77". Or I can send you pics and details via texts or emails. PM me if you're interested.
It's cool, his got picked up from the WERA GNF on Saturday as soon as he was done with his last race. If you have any questions about them, hit me up. We had a couple pretty successful seasons, she'll love it!
Draik’s was an '08. There are quite a few difference other than styling. But the major ones that make the new gen the way to go are the facts that the frame is less "flexy" and the wheels are 17". The 17s allow you to run much better tires. The latest issue the pre-gen (up thru '07) is facing is a lack of performance parts availability. As a matter of fact, the guy the bought Draik's was trying to sorcerer parts for his and gave up after searching for over a month. He already had the bike and quit looking so he just bought Draik’s, race ready, for less headache and a btter platform.
Makes sense. I'm finding plenty around me for just a couple grand. Think my 11 year old will be crapping his pants from his 12th birthday present!
